Nexcare Strong Yet Pain Free Tape, Tears Easily, For Sensitive Skin, 1 Roll

This is an essential addition to any first aid kit. It uses a proprietary silicone adhesive that provides a secure, reliable hold even on hairy areas, yet it lifts away cleanly and absolutely painlessly. I've been using the plastic "X" style tape for over 1.5 years and switched to Nexcare 3 weeks ago. I like it so much more than the individual X tapes. I highly recommend trying out Nexcare as mouth tape while sleeping. Cost: This is a no-brainer. The plastic "X" style tape strips individual tape strips are very expensive. Nexcare is cheap *and* the roll looks like it's going to last a very long time. Ease of use: Nexcare is on a roll and can be easily torn with fingers alone. The edge of the roll is easy to find and pull up because the tape has a little bit of thickness. So, getting a piece just before sleeping is quick and easy. The plastic "X" style tape strips require some fidgeting with the paper or plastic that the strip comes on, and I almost always ended up bending a corner of it onto itself. Feel: Nexcare is soft to the point where I forget it is on my lips at all. The stiff plastic "X" style tape strips are not very comfortable and could make my lips a bit itchy at times. Reapplying: The Nexcare tape is super sticky and easy to apply and reapply -- I sip water about 2x per night. The X tapes did not stick as well after reapplying, but the Nexcare is just as good. Lip balm: I can also apply some lip balm to the corners of my mouth when needed after putting on the Nexcare tape, and only the edges of the tape lose their stickiness. When I tried that with the plastic "X" style strips, the entire tape would lose its stickiness almost immediately. Residue: Some reviews said they get a residue on their lips after taking the Nexcare off. I haven't experienced that. It's possible that some rolls have this problem and others do not. Or that it's very sensitive to heat, and that occurs after too much heat exposure. I'm only guessing, though. Customizability: Since you tear off a piece of Nexcare tape with your fingers, you can customize it to the perfect length for your lips. I only cover about an inch of my lips, so I could always breathe through the corners of my mouth while sleeping, if necessary (but this hasn't happened). The plastic "X" style strips are one size only. Trust: The companies that sell the plastic "X" style strips change all the time. I could never buy the same product twice (3+ months apart) because they would disappear, only to be replaced by another company and a different-looking product. Nexcare is made by 3M, which has been around for decades and is used in medical settings. I trust the ingredients of Nexcare much more because of that.

I use this as mouth tape, to keep my mouth closed while sleeping. It works very well, is adhesive, but will remove easily when you want to take it off. After trying MANY tapes designated specifically as “mouth” tape, this is by far the best. Many of the ones marketed as “mouth” tape, are either not adhesive enough, or are impossible to remove, or leave a sticky residue that’s difficult to get off. This one will be my go-to for mouth tape.

This is the first tape I’ve used for taping my mouth at night and it worked well! I noticed my sleep was much better and felt deeper than usual and I woke up feeling more restored. Sometimes I struggle with staying asleep or getting out of bed and this in combination with other things was a great addition to my nighttime routine. It doesn’t leave residue on my face as far as I’m concerned. That being said, if you moisturize before using this, it will not stick. Also, if you spray tan or have any on your face, it’ll take that baby right off in the morning. So keep that in mind in case you don’t want to end up with a pale rectangular patch on your face. It feels gentle enough to be on the skin without being flimsy.

This is the best mouth tape I’ve found yet. I have been tested for Sjogren’s, for my extremely dry mouth. Came with my sleep apnea diagnosis. I truly thought it was a medical problem. I tried other mouth tape products but somehow I found them to not cover from corner to corner of my mouth, allowing air to still get in, and out. I can make this the length I need (plus more) and I’ll be darn! I’m finding my mouth stays moist, I don’t wake up several times to grab my water glass, due to dryness. I’m sleeping longer too. This truly has changed my life! It does tug a bit to remove in morning but so worth it. Indicates its strength.

I was allergic all kinds of Band-Aids. The latex and adhesive gave me contact dermatitis. This stuff is really kind to your skin and sticks. Great product!

This silicone adhesive tape is marketed as pain-free for removal, which is a nice idea, and it does come off without irritation. However, the adhesive did not stay secure and lost hold too easily, making it unreliable for longer use. Overall, it didn’t perform well in terms of staying power.

This works well as mouth tape, easy on the skin, and more affordable than actual mouth tapes
