Amazing 🤩 excellent item

I'm traveling more and this is my 3rd Hanke hard shell suitcase and I'm very happy with my purchase. The suitcase is light, easy to use, durable (traveled more than 6000 miles, multiple airlines) and the size is just right for carry on or check-in. The handle is smooth and easy to use and I had no issue with the wheels.

I got the 20 inch front pocket suitcase in the greyish blue color. Huge pluses: - beautiful grey-blue color and textured surface - sturdy shell! Strong enough for me to sit on top of and roll a bit (but I'm 110-120lb). I researched so so many suitcases online and 99% of 20" suitcases are NOT sturdy enough for sitting on comfortably. Edge case, I know, but I thought it was important to me. - The wheels are SO smooth! - unique top opening design is easier to pack than traditional clamshell designs and fits on hotel luggage racks - handle seems okay? Though I didn't test it much. - Carry on sizing! With wheels and handles I roughly measured the exterior dimensions as 22"x14"x9.5". The half inch probably doesn't matter so I'd say this is one of very few suitcases on the Amazon that actually meets carry-on sizes. (Cough cough, Samsonite carry on suitcases never meet the size!) - given the sturdiness, price point seems pretty decent but I'd be hesitant to pay more than $150 unless zipper design is fixed. I was honestly on the fence about returning because of being able to sit on it (airports don't have enough seating!) and because wheels are so good. However, I ended up returning this after a lot of deliberation. Here's why: - I really disliked the zippers and zipper pulls, and was not confident that they'd last. The weird wavy/angled design of the zipper pulls (which only makes sense for locking) made it a little hard to zip compared to straight zippers that are shorter. I would much prefer standard zippers and for the TSA lock to be on the side instead. - while top opening design is great and the size is true carry on, it comes at the cost of really tiny interior packing space. Granted, I'm used to a fabric carryon without 360 wheels, so that's not a fair comparison, but I feel like this suitcase wouldn't fit much more than a large backpack's worth. - in this particular model I did not like the implementation of the front pocket. You have to open the first compartment, then unzip again to get to your actual clothes. It just felt cumbersome and odd to me, even though I'm not constantly opening and closing my suitcase interior that much. - Not expandable, in case you need that flexibility. Probably good to have some give, but that'd sacrifice the other feature of being able to sit on it. - a bit pricey for the compromises (mainly the zipper design) - Other reviews said warranty and customer service is not good and isn't honored? But that's minor to me. TLDR - while there's a lot of great benefits, I ended up returning because the suitcase zippers don't seem sturdy, and I think I need a little more space in my carry-on than this neat front opening design allows for. That is ultimately why I will not end up buying the no-front-pocket one. It's very hard to have perfect product design and this case's innovative design comes very close, but not good enough for me. So I'm going to keep looking, and at this point I'm convinced I have to get a clamshell if I want to prioritize space :( --- Update 3/25/24: I ended up with Quince's carry-on which is a clamshell and is actually cheaper than this one. Clamshell definitely took some getting used to, but when it's open I can actually prop the top half up against the wall or luggage rack so it is kind of like a top opening suitcase. It caves /flexes in a bit at the zipper when sitting on top, but I'm confident it wouldn't break that way, unlike many other clamshells (including Samsonite!). So if you think you're resistant to a clamshell like I was, just find a good quality one to try out and see if you can make it work. I've been quite happy with my Quince one, and have used it at least 4 times now. Or if you absolutely need the ability to sit on your suitcase without fear of it collapsing, and you're ok with having less packable space in your carry-on, then this Hanke case would be great for you!

Purchased this for my one week of vacation when it was on sale. Zipper and locks were smooth n simple to use and I liked it had inner zipper cover to seal the content and there’s separated pockets to put small things in front. I had to change hotels 3 times and Rollers worked great and very smooth and quiet moving hotels few times ! Compare to my family’s cheaper carry on, my rollers glide w minimal noise on roads , bumpy curves, inside airports and hotels ..and very easy to push it around!

Purchased this thinking it’ll be most durable. At the time of this review, I have used it for 3 trips. While the frame and wheels is holding up well, the zipper has already broken. If you put a laptop at the front pocket laptop sleeves, it becomes top/side heavy and will topple flat easily when up in standing position. With just one of the outer zipper broken it is still usable, but annoying to have to play with the zipper. Past return period, so will have to make due for now.

I love this case! It’s so classy and roomy and works for most airlines if not all. I get tons of compliments! Don’t hesitate, buy it! Just ordered two more for my daughters. The white looks sooo good!! No issues yet after almost a year of traveling back and forth to the beach multiple times. The best carry-on ever!

One of the zippers broke off during my first flight with this bag which has never happened with any other suitcase. Also, the laptop compartment is okay, but I wish you had the option to fully connect or strap it to the lid of the suitcase instead of it accordianing out every time you open the suitcase.

This bags zipper broke the second time I flew with it spilling out all my personal items in the airport. I tried to fix the zipper and it worked until I got to my destination in which it broke again. I keep trying to fix it and it works and then breaks again. Very disappointed since I am currently traveling and this bag is supposed to keep my personal items safe. Unfortunately it’s passed the date to return the item but it is defective and unusable.

パソコンが入るポケットがあるのが決め手で購入しましたが、この前ポケットのマチ部分のためにジッパーが閉めづらい。 カラーが可愛いのですが、最近よく見るもっと安価な商品も似たカラーリングがあるので、そちらにすれば良かったと思っています。

Finally got what I really want. Easy to carry and the rollers are smoothly strolling. The front opening has many pockets/ compartments to use for .

Bought two of these 20" Carry On suitcases, because, after much research, felt the front opening carry on would be most convenient for our use. They were used this past winter and going through security was much easier with the front opening laptop section. It was easy to pull out and return after we cleared security. I find the top loading style allows for easier packing as it is an open space than you can fill to your requirements. My other carry on bags always irritated me as, once you packed something in and wanted to get at it, you had to try and find it - usually at the bottom! These bags were easy to maneuver, fit easily in overhead bins and hold a lot. We actually checked one of these on our return trip. It had a zip on protective cover but I was still worried about the condition in which it would arrive. Not a mark on it. So that's a bonus to know it's safe to check. Since we are so happy with these two carry on bags, we just ordered 2 of the 28" checked bags and the foldable under seat personal item bag. Hanke is, in my opinion, a good product. Bonus, great sale price during Prime Days.
