I recently upgraded my PC with the Western Digital 1TB WD Blue SA510 SSD, and the performance boost has been incredible. Boot times are nearly instant, programs launch in seconds, and overall system responsiveness has dramatically improved, it’s a huge upgrade from any traditional hard drive.Installation was simple thanks to its 2.5"/7mm form factor, very small, fits anywhere inside the PC.Whether you're upgrading an older machine or adding fast storage to your setup, this SSD is a fantastic value. Upgrading to the Western Digital 1TB SSD, along with doubling my RAM, has truly breathed new life into my old VR system. What once felt sluggish is now snappy and smooth—enough to keep the immersive experiences running strong for a few more years until I can afford a full replacement. It's amazing what a bit of tech tinkering can do!

I use the Wavlink HD cloning device and by using the 2tb SSD it cuts my backups from 5 1/2 hours to 1 1/2 hour.

I hardly write a negative review but I could not let this one go.I bought 3 WD BLUE 1TB SSDs, 2 from Amazon and one abroad. Initially I was very happy to revive an old laptop which I use as a plex server. That was the first SSD I bought late July last year. Returning recently from a long trip abroad, I found out it was dead already, so it could have died between the 7th and 11th month after it was installed. LESS THAN A YEAR! I've had SSDs from Kingston and Samsung , all are still working great after 3 to 8 years (more than half are over 8 years old!)The dead SSD could not be recovered or recognized. The WD Dashboard Tool would sometimes momentarily see it but just stops/ hangs. Same with Partition wizard...Frustrated, I used my spare WD BLUE to reinstall OS and lo and behold, my laptop cannot find a partition! So I used the WD Dashboard to figure out what's going on - it says there is a new firmware available - so I installed it. STILL DIDN'T WORK! I reformatted the disk using Windows - still NO GO! I used Partition Wizard - still NOTHING!At this point I'm afraid my laptop may have been damaged. One way to find out is to get either a Kingston or a Samsung - my tried and tested brands. I ordered Samsung, got it today, installed OS with no problem at all to my relief.So I got 2 dead WD BLUEs - RMA in process.I got 1 more WD BLUE in another laptop which is abroad and I hope will last long enough for me to replace the SSD before it dies.And I also got 1 WD GREEN in another laptop which is also abroad and I hope will last long enough, too -but the GREEN was rated below the BLUE...What a disappointment this has been as I have had no problems with other Western Digital HDDs. WD should pull these models out of the market as these could cost a lot of wasted time and loss of data for the end users.Interestingly the price of this particular model has dropped tremendously from a year ago...Should have believed the negative reviews... NO MORE WD SSDs for me!I hope this does not happen to anyone else.

It saved my kid's computer, been using it for years since I got this. Very stable. Pair with mounting bracket!

Western Digital is a name you can trust. I've had many of their hard drives over the years and never had a problem.

Installed this in a budget build and… it works. That’s honestly the best compliment I can give it. It’s not flashy, it doesn’t light up like a UFO, and it’s not going to shatter any speed records. But it boots fast, loads stuff quickly, and hasn’t made a single fuss since day one.Cloned my old drive to it, popped it in, and it just ran like it was always meant to be there. Windows boots in seconds, games load in a reasonable time, and it doesn’t overheat or act weird under pressure.It’s SATA, not NVMe, so yeah—it’s not blazing fast—but it’s fast enough that I don’t miss spinning drives and their dramatic loading noises.Took off one star just because... well, it’s not exciting. But also, not every part of a build has to be exciting. Sometimes you just want a reliable little slab of storage that does its job and never texts you at 3AM.Would buy again for a secondary drive, or for someone who just wants things to work without needing a benchmark chart to prove it.
