I can’t go to bed without this on my face. It’s like my skin drinks it up while I sleep. For an oil, it isn’t so greasy and it doesn’t leave a mess on my sheets or my clothing. It’s extremely effective at hydrating my skin. Minimal (if any) scent and a little goes a long way, this bottle lasts for ever! I only use one squirt per night and it covers my face and neck. Highly recommend adding this to your line up! I’ve been using it for about 3 years and continue to get compliments on my skin. I give Josh Rosebrook credit for those compliments!

I can't say enough about this product. I've been using it for awhile now and my skin is brighter, softer and it glows! I've seen dramatic results. I actually get compliments on my glowing skin all the time! I use this product at night (one pump) and seal it with Vital Balm. I have oily skin, and it does not make it more oily at all! I also love that there is no added fragrance. I would definitely recommend this product!

Josh Rosebrook Active Infusion Oil Retinoid & Vitamin C Facial Oil doesn’t contain “fragrance” or fragrant essentials oils. It does have a light rose scent that I think dissipates quickly. I assume it’s the Phenethyl Alcohol (can’t say for sure)- a fragrant alcohol used as a preservative. I have dry and sensitive skin and haven’t had any sensitivities or allergies. So far, the retinoid in this oil is well tolerated and my skin feels hydrated rather than dry, while I’ve had issues with most retinol products I’ve tried. I tolerate Vitamin C well from long term use, but some don’t and this has one of the more gentle forms as tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate. One pump of this oil is generous and makes my skin look and feel oily for 1-2 hours, depending on what else I apply with it. I’m not bothered by the oily residue as I like the hydration boost and also use this oil primarily at night as I’m adverse to the risks associated with retinol/retinoid use and sun exposure. I haven’t had breakouts and don’t notice an issue with clogged pores. The serum is yellow, but I haven’t noticed any staining from the turmeric. My dry and sensitive skin feels comfortable using this oil, though I do team it with my usual skincare. I typically pat it into my skin after my cream, and I’m also using it on my neck as that’s become a big problem area with age. I’ve tried using it before my cream, but my skin feels and looks about the same either way. In the morning, my skin is soft and hydrated, it has no redness and it’s bright and radiant. I can’t attribute these benefits only to this oil as I pair it with other good products, but I feel it contributes to better looking skin. It can take at least 4-6 weeks of regular use for me to gauge longer term benefits, such as increased cellular turnover, restored elasticity and so on. I feel this helps with tone and texture and it also seems well formulated for more benefits. For example, benefits tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate may be enhanced when combined with Vitamin E, retinol and green tea, and this oil pairs them together. And this has plant oils rich in antioxidants, such as jojoba oil, etc. I especially recommend this for those who need a more gentle retinoid product. 5 stars. Made in USA.

I’m used to a lot of steps in my skincare but I’m not used to putting on an occlusive oil “serum” under a balm or cream. I wash, use a cica toner pad, hydrate with a mist, then use this serum oil and then top it off with my night cream. Usually when I use oils, it’s my last step to seal my moisturizer and not the other way around. I used the product this way for a week and half at night only and my skin didn’t break out but got that weird orange peel texture (and I have smooth skin). But sometimes my skin gets this way for several days before it gets better. The following week I spot treated only with this oil serum and used a lighter weight night cream. My skin eventually smoothed out and looks brighter after several weeks of use. I’m thinking the oil might be necessary because the retinol is strong and drying. The serum is ok, I’m not a fan of the medicinal scent but it doesn’t really bother me because I have some much other stuff on my face too. I just feel there are other better products that have a more emollient like texture and are less expensive. Eventually saw some small results but not worth the heavy feel and price. Maybe this serum is better with the complete line. But it wasn’t life changing and I Willis not repurchase.

This retinol + vitamin C oil does not provide me with that much of a benefit for improving my skin's condition, and its oppressive oily texture makes it so uncomfortable to wear that I can barely tolerate it. As other reviewers have mentioned, this skincare product is a very thick oil that really covers all the pores of your face. It does not absorb into my skin whatsoever, just sits on top like a layer. When I try to apply it at night it smears all over my pillow. During the daytime, it just feels so oppressive and cloying on top of my combination skin that I end up wiping a lot of it off. As for the actual function of this product, I suppose I did notice a bit of brightening effect from this product after sustained use. Considering its cost and discomfort to me, though, I think there are far better products for my needs than this one. I would also recommend searching elsewhere if you have combination skin and do not like the feeling of excessive oiliness.

I stopped using Tretinoin a while ago because it was just too drying and caused me to also have dry eyes. So, I was looking for a high-quality Retinoid to use instead. I was happy to find this Retinoid and Vitamin C Oil is that is both Organic and packed with good, natural, effective ingredients. The oil is an amber-colored with a light rose scent. The instructions recommend using this in the evening and to press it into your skin. The instructions also say to use this after cleansing, toning and hydrating (serum) but before moisturizing. I normally don’t care for fragranced products… this one does NOT have an added fragrance, but DOES have a botanical scent derived from the ingredients, which I actually like a lot. After applying it, I don’t really notice the smell lingering. The product absorbs pretty quickly, but leaves my skin looking a little shiny and feeling slightly oily. I have areas of dry skin on my face, so I’m not bothered by that – in fact, I like it on my mature skin. Once I layer my moisturizer on top, my face has a dewy appearance. I like how protected and hydrated this makes my skin feel - like the moisture is getting locked in beneath the oil. Retinoid and Vitamin C together can sometimes cause irritation, but I have not experienced that. This feels gentle and pampering on my skin. I look forward to trying other Josh Rosebrook products.

I ordered this oil because I have really dry skin in the summer (thanks, Arizona) and really like something that is rich without clogging pores. Obviously you see anything with “oil” and you assume the worst in terms of a greasy mess. I tried a little bit of this orange colored oil on the back of my hand and instantly knew what to do. I thought, awww man. This is the PERFECT post-mask treatment. I was not wrong. I used a new clay mask that was natural and herbal in preparation for this wonderful little Josh Rosebrook oil that now I feel super lucky to have happened upon. I left the mask on for about 20 minutes and then washed it off in the shower. It had a mild exfoliating effect as well so I could prep my skin. Once I was happy with the scrub and steam, I patted my face dry then applied the oil. Just wow. SO moisturizing. It is an oil so you will have a bit of a healthy sheen and not much for mattifying. But this is a hydration treatment and before bed is going to be my personal recommendation because I like to put my more moisturizing and rich products on at night. Totally recommend this super hydrating oil. It’s a pampering evening oil that is GREAT after a really good quality clay mask. My skin is SO soft and I don’t even notice that I got too much sun today. It’s THAT soothing.

I'm hesitant to try new face products, since I feel I have my face as good as it gets, Age 60+, New England, Outdoors lots, sensitive skin, used to have a touch of rosacea. I've been using it for almost a month now, somewhat discriminately. On days I'll be outside a lot, I skip this in the am and use products with SPF. It goes on a bit oily and sticky, so I finally figured out the best way to apply this is to squirt one pump in my hand and massage all over my face. It does have a pine/medical smell, that goes away fast. One pump is all I need. It absorbs fairly quickly and mornings I have to do makeup, I use it to help smooth on my foundation. I don't use it when traveling because it has a cheap clear plastic cover for the pump that is not totally secure. Bottom line, results are great. Packaging could use a slight improvement.
