Awesome generator!
Bought this Generac 24kw whole house generator to have automatic power transfer during outages, it came with a 200amp transfer switch and a bunch of useful features. It was packed well and bolted on a pallet, the cardboard carton that surrounded it was a little worse for wear but the contents were fine (undamaged). Note: the generator requires a battery but it’s not included, and if you live in cold weather country you’ll want to order the cold kit which includes a battery warmer and oil filter warmer (worth the money). Also, if you have home wireless there are several features you can take advantage of including Generac’s mobile link which allows for remote monitoring and alerts etc. (visit their site and read more there). I must say the unit is much quieter than I though it would be, I fired the unit up to initialize and we let it run for a bit while we reignited it etc., by wife was in a bedroom right next to where the unit is located and she did not hear a thing. Standing right in front of it with the covers on and shut its extremely quiet, very impressive! (Note: I’m using LP gas and I understand that is quieter than natural gas. (This generator will use either once you set it up right, just a lever to move.) overall very happy with my purchase. Had to use customer support for a few minor things, they were quick and professional.

Great Purchase - If you are thinking about it do it!!
Started out not so good - shipping company called me the morning of the delivery and told me that the unit was too damaged to deliver. I did appreciate that being done before delivery and having to go through the order process again. Order was placed again and another shipping company delivered with no damage or issues. They even placed the pallet in my garage. Other shipping vendors wanted to charge a whole lot extra to place anywhere besides the street. Amazon did give me a $50 credit. Once installed, the unit has worked flawlessly and is a huge sigh of relief for this homeowner who lives on the Gulf Coast. Buy the unit separately and DIY an install or find Ana contractor who will give you an install only price. You will save thousands as opposed to buying from one of those huge generator outfits.

Excelente reemplazo
tenía una planta de 14.4 Kva y la cambié por esta, el aporte a la casa de energía se mantiene sin problema

Quality is good
Price was great but it’s very hard to get an installer to put it in if they don’t sell it to you. I got quotes for over $4000.00 to set it and hook up wires !! I set it myself and hooked up propane and natural gas. I found an electrician to install the transfer switch and do the wiring for $1100.00. It took almost 2 months to do that.

Needed back up for medical reasons to run medical equipment.
While I have an installer, because I have to have back up generator for medical reasons propane companies refuse to sell propane to run the generator. They say they will not make enough profit selling propane to me. I called generac and they didn't care if I could power my new generator or not. The fuel is very much a part of the operation of the generators Generac has an interest. Not only that, because backing up medical equipment which with out causes a medical emergency. It is as if you are disabled or elderly, we chose to discriminate and not sell you fuel. Complaint filed with US office of civil rights. Maybe propane companies can learn to help the elderly and disabled with medical conditions. Generac as well should care if customers are denied fuel.

Generac makes a good product unfortunately quality control has gone out the window
The generator itself is great, let’s be honest. It’s a Generac hole home generator. They have made a name for themselves for a reason. The reason I gave this three stars. Is because the ATS switch, which is clearly brand new from the factory came with the wrong size lug screws! Trust me when I say the lug screws in the ATS switch are a rare size and thread. I drove 60 miles a 60 mile radius to find anything that would work because I had already disconnected my power from the house assuming I had everything to get it going but one of the most important components I don’t even know how somebody could put a screw that is too small into a large hole without realizing that the screw just pushed right in and didn’t even needed to be threaded! This is poor quality control Fortunately, I had an old breaker panel that I could completely remove the entire lug and swap it out with the Generac ATS lug, which has a common size lug screw not that that matters cause it had to screw in it already, but there was about three hours when I was very upset and had no power
