Hero Cosmetics Rescue Balm + Red Correct: Post-Blemish Recovery Cream, Nourishing & Calming, Dermatologist Tested, Vegan (1.69 fl oz)

Mrs K here; from the generation that drank from the hose and never wore sunscreen, I didn't use a moisturizer except for Neutrogena stuff from the drugstore until I was about 25. Nearing 30 I began to take care of my skin, and at 50, with disciplined use of sunscreen and an expensive skin care routine it's in pretty good shape. Except for the fact that I'm very fair, very allergic, can get redness from a stray wind, and I don't love having to paint myself everyday to cover the redness. Chemotherapy six years ago left me with broken capillaries that make me look like the town drunk, without a lot of concealer and foundation, which fades by noon BTW, and it's a drag to deal with, especially as the rest of my skin glows. This tube of perfection makes me want to take a bank loan, build a storage space, and buy up all of the existing product on the planet, and hoard it. A little goes a long way; after primer, before makeup (you might stop using foundation). Afternoons, I rub a little over my cheeks and chin, and the redness is gone, without having to reapply coverage. It's not irritating, there's no scent, and it leaves a lovely, luminous glow, slightly matte but not flat, and alive, like my own skin. I'm not one to gush; I'm quite pragmatic and immune to gimmicks and trends. This is serious business: feeling confident in our skin isn't vanity. No one but you knows how you want to make up your face, and why- acne, scars, hypersensitivity, autoimmunity, all of the crap conditions and situations that make us feel less than, are remedied by this, without makeup, without covering up, and I thank and bless this company for this product, because I just got a huge spring in my step from it. I'll never be out of it. A tube in my handbag and gym bag, and one in the bathroom, and no more crippling insecurity over what life events show on my face: just my healthy, natural skin that I've worked so hard to care for. Amazing, amazing stuff. Run, don't walk, etc.

As someone who has red skin, and hates wearing makeup this is the perfect thing for me! I will say if you have oily skin (like I do) I would recommend wearing a light powder over it if you are planning on going out and about, I use a cheap one that isn’t colored and it works perfectly because it’s light! It helps keep my oily skin from seeming even more shiny. Although some people prefer that look! It corrects my redness like magic, I keep buying again and again! Can also use it on designated areas and doesn’t look unnatural!

I love this stuff. The color corrector goes on green but dries to a paler, more skin tone color. Works well when using a foundation-matching concealer. I can't speak to any balm properties, but this is hands down my favorite color corrector.

I'm a lazy makeup girly, so I like that I can apply it with my fingers. Finish I like the light feel; it doesn't feel greasy or too drying on my combination skin. It looks similar to my natural skin. It doesn't just sit right on top of the skin like my other foundations. Redness Correcting It does a fantastic job cancelling redness. It creates an even tone with minimal fussing over precise application. I hardly had to build up product on my reddest acne areas. Price I think this is a fairly priced product for the amount needed to apply and the size of the bottle itself. CONS Color I was really hoping the comments mentioning an orange tint was only pertinent for people fairer than me. Alas, I'm still a little orange. The last pic I uploaded shows the difference between my neck and face. My redness has always made my face appear a little darker than my neck, so it's something that isn't necessarily a deal breaker for me. CONCLUSION It's a product that I'm willing to experiment with because I love the ease of application, redness cancelling, and finish. I didn't apply any sunscreen or moisturizer before using the corrector, so I will have to play around with combining those. Perhaps diluting it with a bit of moisturizer will help mitigate some of the orangey tint. If Hero Cosmetics created a formula specifically for fairer skin tones then I'd be a brand loyalist for sure!

Really big fan of this balm and will likely continue repurchasing when I finish this tube! I wear this every day in place of any makeup and find that it is all I need to even out my complexion and give a healthy glow. For reference I am in my late 30s, have normal/combo skin with some sensitivities, a history of malasezzia and eczema, and am most conscious of enlarged pores and redness. This balm immediately cancels out redness and perfectly matches my skin tone. It is quite moisturizing and I find that I get oily throughout the day (which is typical for me), so I am often blotting and aware that I am blotting away some of the product. I've started putting this balm on in the morning without putting a moisturizer on first to see if that helps, although I still feel like I get shiny. I try to set it with powder very lightly in key areas because I find that powder takes away from the healthy glow that it gives on its own and makes it look worse, but that might just be user error. Ever since I started using this, my partner comments all the time on how great my skin looks and that I look really well and radiant :)

I LOVE this! I have been using this for several months and am grateful for the larger size. My face turns red from meds that I take and this helps even it out. It is lightweight and nongreasy (unlike other redness relievers). It takes a couple minutes to absorb into the skin but then looks very natural and can layer for a bit better coverage. It doesn't pill and occasionally I'll add a light dusting of powder. It's makes my skin feel soft. I really love it!

So sad this was discontinued. This was my holy grail for my acne prone skin. Please bring it back in its original formula Hero!!

The product is great. It covers redness and looks so natural. I am very pale so a concern for me was it looking orange, no issues with that, blends into my skin perfectly. My issue with this product is with the packaging. It’s just a squeeze tube, I have the larger tube. The moment I open the cap product starts coming out. I end up wasting product because too much is coming up and I can’t put it back into the bottle. I also live in IL so nowhere with high elevation that would maybe cause this issue. It’s really frustrating I wish they could design it with a pump.
