Is this just mineral oil or is there additional laxative added.

The main ingredient is mineral oil. Other ingredients make it easier and pleasant to take. Personally I will never go back to mineral oil.

Is this different and/or better than regular (cheap) mineral oil?

My husband uses it and yes he finds it better than mineral oil. It seems to set with your system better. I am on an automatic reorder for him.

This is not s stimulant. It is designed to make it easier to excrete fecal matter out your anus. It works; provides relief.
