250W Foam Electric Hot Knife, Styrofoam Cutter Cutting Tool Kit

I recently had some EPS foam insulation to install. I tried to use more affordable, 15-20$ range products, but they were far too weak to cut through foam. This product his clearly heavy duty and higher quality. I cut through 2in thick foam like butter. Everything came in the box and worked. There is a minor bit of unscrewing+rescrewing, but the blades are even replacable. This foam cutter is expensive, but compared to the nasty mess that comes from sawing EPS foam boards, how unclean the cuts are, I prefer this. Keep in mind, burning foam gives off dangerous fumes, make sure you have ventilation in the area you're cutting. Also make sure you don't have any drops of melted foam fall onto you if you're cutting above yourself. I wanted others to know, since there wasn't a lot of videos/information about how to properly cut EPS foam board, or tools you could use. This is what you need, or something similar and heavy duty, if you want to cut those thick insulation boards!

in the pictures it shows a duty plastic case to store this in when not in use but what you is everything packed in foam nicely in a cardboard box and no duty case at all so be aware that there is not one and checked to see if could order as accessory there is none in the the Minova store either. Be nice if that was addressed. and corrected.

I am putting in styrofoam insulation in between wall studs in a room I am remodeling. This hot knife was one of the better looking models on line so tried it. It works wonderfully, so much better than a utility knife. Quick easy cuts, if you use level3, high temp make sure to be working in a well ventilated area. I used it on level two the whole time and it didn’t burn at all or produce any smoke, you just have to take your time. Would defenitly recommend. Comes with a scraper to clean the blade. Recommend small wire brush if you really want to clean up after you finish working with it. Good price and quite a few accessories available.

This must be a joke you have to be kidding me this thing is so cheap that it is unbelievable look at the little spatula thing to come with the handles are misaligned by a bunch. The one heating element will not fit down in the space in the box, it has to be laid across it, and it has no tool to put the heating elements in and out. How cheap can something be made posting pictures

Great hot knife, used for sculpting 2 pieces of 2” thick XPS foam glued together. A little practice first on some scraps to get a feel for the heat setting dial and feel of pressure with the blades. Easy work vs a sharp long utility knife. Always remember to unplug before scraping the blade, make sure it’s hot, unplug and scrape or it will spark.

This is a heavy duty tool. I bought it to shape XP foam for a model train layout. It must be used outdoors. No way to to use this without generating toxic fumes. Even outdoors I recommend a respirator. I've tried the different settings and techniques but end up melting the foam more than slicing through it. I'm generally cutting 1" or 2" XP foam and suspect this tool is just too big for this use.
