The only thing that really helped after wind burned eyes
I experienced a sudden extreme bought of dry eye months after starting a job that requires me to get in and out of many many cars after driving them for only a few minutes at a time. My eye problems started at the end of the summer where I had grown into the habit of, after getting into hot car after hot car, I would crank up the air conditioner sky high and the fan speed up as high as possible, and point the fan straight at my upper body and face. Because I was only in each car for a few minutes, I had the air blasting at me nearly all day. Further, during this time we had a few weeks where it was constantly windy. This all led to my eyes becoming extremely painfully dry (which has never ever happened to me before), so much so that I had to wear laboratory goggles in my home and motorcycle glasses outside and at work. I had to shut my eyes when walking because I could feel the air hitting my eyeballs like paper cuts. It was excruciatingly painful. I got gel eyedrops but those never lasted more than a few minutes at a time and still did not help as much as I needed. Then I bought this at my local pharmacy and, even though this is a night time eye product, I had no other option than to use this during the day and at night. After doing that for several weeks my eyes began to heal. Even now I use this whenever I feel that my eyes have been or may be exposed to prolonged wind or fans, and today my eyes seem to have recovered. Iโm very thankful for this product and will never go without it again. I try to carry it around with me wherever I go. This product has the consistency of Vaseline basically, so when you put it in you will have blurred vision. However, that was something I was willing to live with as the pain was unbearable and the relief this ointment provided was instant. The way I apply it is I lift up my upper eyelid, squeeze some ointment out underneath it, and do the same for the lower one, then I roll my eyes around both ways. I also put this in as many times a day as I need. Update: as of 12/18/24, the sides of the tube split open and began leaking out. I put electrical tape around it, so hopefully that will stop the leaking. I will still use and keep purchasing the product as itโs the only thing that helps me, but may handle it with more care so this doesnโt happen again.

Amazing, lasts all night & I use less drops during the day
Buy this, it works! I was having major issues with one of my eyes, extreme pain, sensitive to light, red, itchy & irritated every couple weeks. First eye doc visit, we just assumed I scratched my cornea. By the 3rd visit was told recurrent corneal erosion. Saw someone else for the 4 day follow up & she said use eye drops as soon as you wake up, before you open your eyes...first I was like yeah right, I need to see to find the drops, if I even remember...then I felt it happen, my eyelid stuck to my eyeball overnight & ripped off part of my cornea when I first opened my eyes...yikes! But guess who never forgot again and kept her eyes closed until I felt around and found the eye drops lol. That helped but I realized my eyes were really dry & getting worse...thanks autoimmune. I'm going threw eyedrops like crazy, needing to use them like every hour because my eyes are dry & hurt. I figured there's got to be something that can help that's not full of steroids or needs a Rx. I prefer this brand of drops and after an Amazon search landed on this. I love it just has 3 ingredients, I don't love it's mostly petroleum, but felt better knowing that it's white petroleum which is highly refined to remove (hopefully) all toxins. Either way this stuff works well & I've had no issues. It's a tiny little tube but you only need a little, so it will last a long time & was inexpensive vs drops. My only complaint is when this type of tube, when it's accidentally/unknowingly squeezed when closed, it just comes gushing out when you take off the top. It seems to be better now that it's not so full. I use every night before bed & my eyes still feel lubricated when I wake. My eyes have improved significantly to the point I'm only using drops a few times a day! Yay!

Moist Gel Drops
These arenโt so bad as other reviews made it sound. Yes they make you a little blind at first but itโs not so bad. I out a small drop on the bottom eyelid and moved my eye around to get it all moist since the top/bottom get stuck or caught up in the dryness. Itโs awful. Trying to go see an ophthalmologist for this issue and hope there is nothing wrong with my cornea itself. So far they have stayed moist for about 5 hours as of typing this review. Give it a shot and see if it helps you or if it does not, but it is helping my eyes for now which is what I need.

Good for what it is
I like how there are no preservatives and that there are as few ingredients as possible. I would recommend. :) Relief: It really does help me cover for the lipid layer while my different glands heal up. Ease of use: I like how it keeps my eye lubricated. It makes the vision blurry so it is only recommended for at night. I use it in the morning as well because I carpool and only apply it in one eye. It is greasy and hard to apply. My eye Dr said that I could just apply it to a very clean finger and swipe it into the lower eye pocket. That has been going well. I am on my second package because I contaminated the first one by touching it to my eye due to the recommended method on the box. Size: It is a small container. It goes a long way though. Plus a smaller container keeps you from using too old of a product and risk contamination Why did you pick this product vs others?: Besides lanolin, it is relatively hypoallergenic

Wow, Great product!
This ointment is the only thing that has helped my eye. I have one eye that always waters and feels like theirs a small piece of glass in it, causing me to rub at it all day, itโs sore and irritated. Drops feel good for a few minutes but donโt last. One of my friends recommended trying an ointment (I had never tried one before) so I gave this one a shot, and so glad I did! I started these two nights ago and my eye was fine all day yesterday and today, so happy! I will most definitely recommend these and continue to order them myself.

Works well for severe dry eyes
Really helps with my dry eyes. Sometimes Iโll even use it during the day. It is a thicker gel style ointment, so it can make it a little difficult to see for a little while after application. I would keep that in mind and only use it during times when you are able to have your vision slightly impaired. It has a tube style applicator instead of a bottle because of the gel like consistency of the ointment. It can be a little difficult to get a small dose because the tube wants to push out a lot of ointment even with a small amount of pressure. Itโs kind of expensive but worth it. I alternate with other drops to make them last longer.

Exactly what I needed for dry eye!
Exactly what I needed. My eyes are constantly dry and itchy, and my eye doctor had suggested this at night when I went to bed to help ease some of the irritation when I woke up. The stuff is perfect. Be warned however it will make your vision quite blurry so this is something you need to put in your eyes right as you're going to sleep. (I made a mistake on the first night and realize that reading a book was not going to be possible) Additionally this works fantastic on long overnight flights when they air on the plane is dry

Not the most solidified nighttime ointment, very drippy
Iโve been using this overnight eye ointment after lasik surgery, as advised by my eye surgeon. He did not recommend a particular brand so this one was on sale. I find the Systane ointment is hard to get into my eye. The tube pushes a lot out, so to get it in my lower eyelid without touching it and keeping it sterile is not really possible. Once I get it in one eye, my hand is already slippery from the first eye when trying to get it into my other eye. Extra ointment oozes out of the tube and then once the lid is on, creates a problem for the next night. Plus by the time I get the second eye done, the first eye has ointment dripping out. It seems like this ointment breaks down and becomes super liquidy really quickly. I had a different brand previously and it was much more congealed, as in I could get it in both eyes without it dripping out before I can even turn off the light and go to bed. It does seems to hydrate so Iโll put this tube in my overnight travel bag and get another tube of my preferred ointment for my house use. I prefer the Optase Hylo Night ointment better than this Systane.

not for all kind of dry eyes
I have dry eye and after applying this at night, my dry eye got worst and more redness in the morning. I have stopped using after two nights of trying. Unfortunately cannot return to Amazon used product. Money wasted.

Tried it - not impressed
Purchased this as I use a CPAP machine which dries my eyes at night and saw this recommended on a US blog . Okay but nothing special - not worth the price in my view. Also a bit 'gunky'. Prefer Blink Intensive Eyes Plus.
