CrystalClear PondShock Ball Freshwater Clarifier, Enzymes Shock Treatment

My pond was SO murky with silt suspended in the waters. My skimmer begged to be cleaned every other day. I dreaded cleaning the pond, but feared for the health of the fish, so I pulled out the pond vacuum and practically killed it trying to suck up all the sludge on the bottom. I finally got the vacuum to work as a pump, draining 3/4 of the water out of the pond, then using the net to shovel out loads of muck. I cleaned both the skimmer and waterfall filters, which were FULL of muck. Refilled the pond with well water and added 2 Pond Shocks to the 5000 gallon pond. The two photos show the difference between when I added the treatment and two days later. Folks, Pond Shock is good stuff, but it's not a complete miracle worker. You have to invest in regular maintenance or do a mini overhaul like I did if you don't do regular maintenance. Now I have clear water with sludge patches on the bottom. I'll have another go with the vacuum at those spots......

Sad to say, but this does not work at all. I placed it in a smaller pond and No results at all. Not even a little bit. Complete waste of money. I’d never recommend and would never purchase again.

I have a 1500gal koi pond. Every spring I have it drained cleaned and inspected for leaks and have any other maintenance performed. So, yes I start with clean water. After treating the water to put my fish back he tosses in a bomb. Every week I add beneficial bacteria and just a small amount of algicide. Monthly I add a new bomb. My water remains clear and the muck build up is minimal. My pond lilies are growing like crazy! But you need to remove the dying leaves, they create the muck. Yes, I have the algae blooms when the heat spikes and the rain drops the temp of the water. I try to add a bit of fresh water in the heat the reduce the water temp and control the algae. You need to be patient with the algae bloom, too much algicide, and not enough aeration will kill your fish. I have purchased solar powered aeration to help. Owning a pond is a science, an art and a love. A beautiful, clear koi pond is not cheap to maintain. It takes time, love and educating yourself and then you will have something that you can truly enjoy. One product will not maintain your entire ecosystem. However I give this product 5 stars for what it is supposed to contribute to my ecosystem.

It works within a day but the water doesn’t stay clean more than 2-3 days. So it’s a temporary fix but not a longer term solution - it over promises of making water clean but stops saying that it’s only a temp fix.

I have a waterfall and over 500 gal pond. It is crystal clear. I still use the spray from my hose to clean algae off of the rocks but leas than an hour later, its so clear. I get compliments on the pond clarity daily. I used to use sludge drips. Killed all my plants. This product doesn't kill my frogs or my plants. Its amazing.

I may have spoken a little too early with my first review! I am very pleased with the outcome of this product! I haven’t seen my pond this clear since the new installation of the pond! I was not expecting it to work as I saw no change at all in the first week but be patient! 2-3 weeks will do it! I can see my fish in the “deep” end (24” deep) at the bottom cuddled up in the evening time, I can see them chasing each other throughout the day and now they can see me too! They come up and over to me for their treats! I love that I can interact with my babies again! I’m afraid the reviews about it being a waste of money are true for me. Regardless, I tried anyway, $20 gone forever. I put in my pond with high hopes that it would make SOME kind of difference but there was no change at all. We are located in Texas where it is super sunny and super hot all the time. My pond is in direct sunlight as well. Maybe that has something to do with my lack of success.

My Koi pond is in direct sunlight most of the day and every year the pond turns bright green. The owner of the local koi supply shop said that the fish don't care if it is green. But I care... because I cannot see the fish. It just looks like green soup. So this year, before the green took over but it was clearly starting to take hold, I put in the pondshock ball. The green went away but the water turned kind of a brown color that didn't go away. I also have a UV filter inline with the supply to the waterfall that usually cannot stop the green from taking over. I turned the UV filter off so that it would not kill the live bacteria. After a month the green started coming back. So I turned on the UV filter and the water cleared. I am hoping that the pondshock ball dealt with the algae that is on the sides of the pond and in the waterfall rocks so that the UV filter can possibly kill any algae that is introduced in the water before it can take hold in the rocks. We will see.

Would not buy this again. Did absolutely nothing to clear the condition on my little pond fountain. Worthless product waists of money. Really would like a refund to be honest.
