It is opal, the camera picks up some iridescence the naked eye can't see. Don't buy unless you really want a tiny piece of opal.

The advertiser shows 12 pieces of opal, in my case, I only got 5 pieces all of which were of inferior quality, once again, if it seems too good to be true, in this case, it was. My advice don't go there.

I received these in about 4 days, and when I opened the package I about fell over!! These stones are absolutely GORGEOUS!! Yes, they are on the small side, the smallest was about 5/8ths of an inch by 1/2 an inch up to my largest which was 1 1/4 by 1/2 inch. The color... I was gobsmacked! They are absolutely beautiful!! I would definitely order from here again. Great value!!

I would give zero stars if that were an option. I wish I would have read the reviews first. What a waste of money! They won't give a refund. These will crumple in a tumbler. False advertisement for sure. I will never buy from them again.

The size and weight of these stones were in keeping with the description but these are NOT AA grade fire opal. They are waste chips of dirt grade regular opal. Some are completely opaque while the rest are mostly opaque. None display any red.AA grade fire opals would be milky and display red refraction.

While I realize these stones are cheap and not the best quality, I did at least expect some color in the stones but what I received can only be described as rubbish. 50% of the stones are colorless potch and the others too small andjagged to to shape anything from.Extremely disappointed in the whole transaction and would think very seriously before buying anything from Amazon after this.
