This is an amazing tool, especially if you have more than one dog and especially if they shed. I love it and it picks up all the fur and then you just open up the compartment and empty it out. Definitely a great product and I would suggest to anybody to buy one if you have a pet

I am not sure who owns the original patents on all of these similar and useful hair/lint removal tools, but there seems to be many companies that make different versions of this same exact product at various price levels. For instance, I also own the "Chom Chom" version of this hair/lint removal tool, and it works very well. However, there are certain aspects of this Black & Decker hair/lint removal tool that make it even better than the Chom Chom, and other similar products like it, including the much lower price.Also, as is true with the Chom Chom hair/lint removal tool, this B&D version also works as advertised IF it is used correctly. We mainly use this B&D hair/lint removal tool to clean up the hair left on the bed and furniture by our constantly shedding Sable German Shepherd. It does indeed work really well for that purpose. This B&D hair/lint removal tool also picks up little pieces of lint off of the furniture very well. However, just like the Chom Chom, this B&D hair/lint removal tool is NOT going to vacuum the entire house by itself, so don't expect miracles from it either.This B&D hair/lint removal tool is designed to be used in short back and forth strokes, and not long rolling motions, as the hair collector bar does not turn 360 degrees (it flips back and forth). The hair collector pads are designed to collect hair and lint by building up static electricity through friction, and then the squeegee deposits the hair and lint into the easy to empty storage compartment. If this B&D hair/lint removal tool is used in one long continuous direction/motion it will not work correctly, and I am quite sure that is where the few negative reviews are coming from.Also, as specifically stated in the included instructions, this B&D hair/lint removal tool is NOT designed to be used directly on humans or pets. It is not a sticky clothing lint roller or a dog/cat brush. The instructions also specifically state that this B&D hair/lint removal tool will not work on hard or smooth services. It needs some friction from rough furniture material in order to build up static electricity on the cleaning pads. As I previously stated, this B&D hair/lint removal tool does work very well IF it used as directed. Just don't use it for unintended purposes, and then leave a bad review because the instructions were ignored or not read at all.In two separate reviews, I am giving this B&D hair/lint removal tool 5 stars, while I previously gave the Chom Chom 4 stars, for several reasons. While both devices do work well, and in the exact same way, this B&D hair/lint removal tool seems to have addressed all of the short-comings that plague the Chom Chom. This B&D hair/lint removal tool has a thicker ergonomic handle, which makes it more comfortable to use. It also has an opaque purple storage compartment cover, which allows the user to tell when it's getting full. Also, this B&D hair/lint removal tool has a much more secure latch on the storage compartment door, so the door does not inadvertently pop open during use like the door on the Chom Chom does quite often. However, the best aspect of this B&D hair/lint roller tool is that it is nearly half the price of the Chom Chom, and many other devices just like it.In conclusion, I highly recommend this B&D hair/lint removal tool, as it does work very well for cleaning pet hair and lint as advertised, IF it is actually used correctly. The lower price makes it even better than the other products in this category that work just like it. For those people that have constantly shedding pets, I suggest picking up a few of these great B&D hair/lint removal tools to keep around the house and car.

After reading good reviews I purchased this Black & Decker pet hair remover, and it is amazing!! Highly recommend. It really picks up the cat hair from couch, recliner, dining room chairs and even worked on the small cat quilts I have laid out over the couch and chair. (if there are small pieces of cat litter it will not pick that up, basically just hair) Will use this in between vacuuming with pet hair attachment on vacuum. Will make a quick pick up of the cat hair. For quilters/sewers, I tried this on the ironing board cover, it would NOT pick up any cat hair, lint or loose threads as the ironing board is more of a harder surface. So will not purchase a second one for sewing room, but maybe Black & Decker could come up with something for that. I really don't like using the sticky paper lint rollers! So yes, for cat owners you won't be disappointed in purchasing this.

I purchased three different styles of pet hair remover tools for the purpose of cleaning out my car. Full disclosure, although I have three dogs, the hardest hair to remove is the one from my white short-haired dog (almost dalmatian-like fur). It is short, white, and wiry so it embeds in cloth/trunk upholstery and is a pain to get out. This tool was my second choice specific to that fur. I think it definitely works better for longer pet-hair, but I was pleasantly surprised with how well it worked on the short hair. The trick is using it with short, fast, back and forth action in small areas at a time - not long vacuum-like strokes. Cleaning small areas at a time is quick and effective and a lot of the hair became dislodged and captured in the tool. It was also a breeze to clean.

Long ago, I had tried pet hair removing hand mitts to remove hair from my clothes. That was pretty laborious way to do it and tough to get the collected hair OFF the mitt. A short time ago, I found and bought another version of this type of hair remover tool on Amazon so I could see how well this concept worked. It did work well but had some poor design elements like a short handle which caused your finger to open the hair trap door accidentally. After using it more, it really seemed like a poor execution of a really good tool design. THEN I happened upon the B&D version of this tool on Amazon and OH BOY, what a DIFFERENCE!!! B&D did a great job designing THEIR version of this tool! Longer handle to keep your finger away from opening the trap door, rubber gripping on the handle to better handle the tool AND a really convenient clear trap door so you can see how full the trap is! AND this tool does a GREAT job of grabbing cat hair (I have THREE cats!) so I'm constantly having to try to get rid of hair off my clothes, furniture and carpeting. This tool does a GREAT job doing just that! So good in fact, that I picked up ANOTHER one of these B&D's to have another one handy in my place! One of those tools that ACTUALLY is a well designed, well executed HANDY tool that does it's function VERY WELL!!!

Vacuums just don't work well. This is simple and excellent. So glad we found it! It picks up everything without blowing hair all over. Works on furniture and carpet. Great for shedding season.

5 stars! I loved this item so much, I had to buy another! I absolutely love to use this on various areas in my home. I usually has an extra blanket on my bed to just because of the dog hair. My German Shepherd’s are convinced they are small breed dogs, so they do lay on sofa/bed ect. This makes cleaning up extra pet hair a breeze and has reduced pet hair for laundry ect. Absolutely worth it, a must try for pet owners!
