Chef'n EzSqueeze One-Handed Can Opener (Black and Meringue)

This is the Best Can Opener ever made! I never knew this product existed, till I bought my first one, at a yard sale several years ago. It’s still holding up well. I have since, bought many new ones, and gave as gifts. Sadly, I have never seen this product available in a store. But was thrilled to find it on line. You only need one hand to operated this can opener. It requires less strength, and is easier to use than all two handed models. The cuts are smooth and the right depth to do the job right on one pass. It also has a build in, strong little magnet, for lid removal. Great gift! Especially for someone who has limited hand strength, or has lost the use of one arm, because of surgery, injury or other life altering situations.

Bought this after our handsfree battery operated one died (and always disliked the razor sharp edge it had exposed). Happy to have an alternative one handed option. good value and easy to use one handed

I originally got this can opener because my wife had broken her elbow and couldn't use that arm. I had seen a youtube video of a lady who was one-armed and how she did all her cooking. She recommended this can opener in her video so I thought we'd give it a try. This can opener is very sturdy. This is actually my second purchase. The first one lasted for probably 4-5 years of daily use. For a $15 hand crank can opener thats a pretty good life time. Even after my wife's arm healed we kept using it because honestly it worked better than most of the electric can openers we have owned. If you appreciate simplicity, low cost, and the fact that it doesnt require electricity then I highly recommend this can opener. Of course if your missing an arm then I would also recommend this can opener. Overall its a surprisingly good product thats going to last even with frequent usage.

I love this thing. I bought it because I had shoulder surgery on my dominant shoulder and knew I'd have trouble opening cans after surgery. I was a little concerned that it wouldn't work as well with my left hand (I'm right handed and had surgery on my right shoulder). I needn't have worried, it works like a charm on either side. It's also very compact so it doesn't take up a lot of space in a drawer. I like it better than my other can openers and will continue to use it as my go-to opener even after I'm out of the arm immobilizer, it's that good. ETA: Now that I've had this for almost a year, it's no longer working well. The U-shaped metal piece came out and the opener is now very difficult to use. I had a heck of a time opening a can of tuna tonight. I eventually got it open but it took quite a few tries. The opener started skipping and popping off. If you need a one handed opener, this one works but maybe not for too long. If you're temporarily immobilized it will work until you can use both hands but may not work long after that. I don't know if putting this in the dishwasher is what did it in or the fact that I keep it in a fairly crowded drawer so you may have a better experience than I did if you don't do those things.

I had high hopes. 😖 I have had a can opener in the past like this one but cannot remember the brands I was so excited to find this similar type! It worked great for the first few cans then quickly began “skipping” The gears would skip and the opener would no longer cut or continue to move around the top of the can. It would stay stationary. When you would open and re-adjust it would leave a small part of the lid still uncut so you would end up with multiple places still uncut by the time you have made it fully around the can. Trying to move and recut the missed spots just bent the metal down without cutting so the lid would be stuck. I end up needing to shove a fork or knife into the can to pry the lid up enough to break the tiny spots. If I wanted to risk cutting my hand every time I opened a can I would not have bothered to purchase.

I absolutely love this can opener. Opens cans every time without skipping or jumping on the lid. It’s easy on the hands too.

Love using these! So much better than the old crank handle kind. My wife says these take a little more strength to use than she likes.

Makes opening a tin a doddle - and unlike some of the new tin openers, this does not remove the top of the tin leaving that very sharp edge and an unstable tin. Not cheap but worth the money as you will not need to replace it

Mit meiner Ergotherapeutin war ich auf der Suche nach einem Dosenöffner den ich eigenständig mit meiner Halbseitenlähmung nutzen kann. Mit diesem Dosenöffner ist mir dies möglich. Ein bisschen Übung ist noch nötig um den Öffner an die Dose anzusetzen, da ich nur meine linke Hand benutzen kann und er Seitenverkehrt läuft, aber das wird auch noch werden. Der Dosenöffner läuft sauber durch, nur der Magnet zum anheben des Deckels ist ein bisschen schwach. Trotzdem alles in allem sehr zu empfehlen!!!

It is easier to open a can (with ring pull) using this can opener than try to open using conventional ring pull with one hand! Highly recommend for anyone but particularly those with limited use of one of their hands either left or right. Bought this from US but when are these going to be available readily in UK?
