Versatile Household Essential That Works for Everything
This Pure Original Ingredients borax has become indispensable in our household for multiple purposes. The 1-pound size is perfect for home use without taking up excessive storage space, and the quality is noticeably superior to generic brands I've used in the past. The powder is fine and dissolves completely without any gritty residue. What impressed me most is how effective it is for various cleaning applications. I use it regularly for laundry boosting, carpet deodorizing, and general household cleaning. It enhances my regular detergent's performance significantly, especially for removing stubborn stains and odors from workout clothes and kids' clothing. The natural cleaning power means I can reduce my reliance on harsh chemical cleaners. My kids love using this for slime-making projects, and it creates perfect slime consistency every time. The purity of this product makes it ideal for craft activities - no unwanted additives or impurities that can affect texture or safety. The powder measures easily for recipes and mixes thoroughly without clumping. The multipurpose nature provides excellent value. Instead of buying separate products for different cleaning tasks, this one ingredient handles numerous household needs effectively. I use it for ant deterrent around entry points, toilet bowl cleaning, and even as a water softener for hand washing delicate items. The packaging clearly lists the pure borax content with no fillers or additives. The resealable container keeps the powder dry and fresh, and the labeling includes safety information and various use suggestions. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a pure, effective, multipurpose household product - excellent quality and versatility at a great price.

PURE ORIGINAL INGREDIENTS Borax Powder A Game-Changer for Wood Engraving with Xtool P2 55W CO2 Laser
PURE ORIGINAL INGREDIENTS Borax Powder – A Game-Changer for Wood Engraving with Xtool P2 55W CO2 Laser As a small business owner working with laser engraving and custom designs, I’m always on the hunt for materials that enhance the quality of my work. Recently, I tried PURE ORIGINAL INGREDIENTS Borax Powder for wood engraving using my Xtool P2 55W CO2 laser, and the results blew me away! Application & Ease of Use Mixing the Borax solution was simple and hassle-free. I followed a basic method: 1. Mixing Ratio: I combined the Borax powder with water until it formed a smooth, consistent solution. 2. Application: Using a brush, I evenly applied the solution onto the wood surface and allowed it to dry completely before engraving. The application process was smooth, and the solution adhered well to the wood, prepping it perfectly for engraving. Performance & Results Here’s where it really stood out. The Borax powder dramatically improved the contrast and depth of my engravings: • Dark, Crisp Lines: The engraving came out rich, deep black—something that’s often tricky to achieve on wood. • Enhanced Detail: Fine lines and intricate designs showed up beautifully, with increased sharpness and definition. • Minimal Residue: Post-engraving cleanup was simple, with very little soot or residue to deal with. Why It Works Borax acts as a flux, altering the chemical reaction during laser engraving. It helps carbonize the wood more effectively, resulting in that bold, dark finish without over-burning or damaging the surface. Pros: • Intensifies engraving contrast (perfect deep black marks) • Easy to mix and apply • Cost-effective (a little goes a long way) • Non-toxic and pure—safe for workshop use Cons: • Drying time: You need to let the solution dry fully before engraving to avoid steam or uneven burns. • Trial & error: Different woods might require slight adjustments to laser power/speed settings for optimal results. Final Thoughts If you’re into laser engraving on wood and want rich, dark engravings without using paints or stains, PURE ORIGINAL INGREDIENTS Borax Powder is a must-try. It’s now a staple in my engraving process, especially for projects that demand high contrast and detail. Pro Tip: Start with medium laser settings and adjust based on the wood type. I found that slightly lower speeds and moderate power gave the best results when paired with the Borax solution. Overall, this product elevated my engraving game, and I can’t recommend it enough for anyone using an Xtool P2 55W CO2 laser or similar machine!

This Borax is great & is NOT expensive...(?)
Well, the package arrived...inside of a package... & It claims "100% Pure Borax" — technically, ...that is not really possible, at all. HOWEVER! Practically, it could be 100% borax...(?) So, ...is it that?—Well! It certainly looks like very refined Borax. It is fine & consistent, &, in my hand, it certainly has the feel of Borax. It certainly smells like Borax. And it most certainly has the taste of Borax*. Unless I am caught up in some elaborate hoax... I'd say ~"Yes! This is practically 100% Borax;" OR, in other words, this is basically the purest Borax I personally have ever seen...(?) Which is great! Because contrary to what many reviewers have claimed, that this Borax is expensive; ...that's simply not true! It may be more expensive relative to Rio Tinto's "20,000 Mules Under the Sea..." BUT! That is a very different quality of Borax—it is packaged, distributed, stocked, & purchased to primarily be used as or with a detergent. And you might choose to purchase that Borax...that is still good. Because Borax is ubiquitous, and depending on what you are purchasing with Borax as an ingredient...and, rest assured, you are most likely purchasing Borax, even if you don't realize it...relatively speaking, you could be paying the same as this...(?) More than likely you are purchasing it anywhere from +100% (i.e., double) the price... +1000% the price... I'll stop at +10,000% the price, but that's NOT the ceiling...not by a long shot (…2oz by volume for $20...?—That is real...!!). Borax itself just happens to be one of those products with an incredibly broad range of use, yet wasn't handed down from generation to generation as a common use product...at least not in the traditional sense. Borax has been "reinvented" a hundred times over as part of all sorts of proprietary formulations for use in all sorts of industries. I've known about Borax for a long time...but purely by luck & not realizing its potential for some time after that! My freshman year in High School; the most Senior Shop Teacher was on his last year before retirement, he had managed the department since the day it had opened in 1964...and in 1964, Borax made for an excellent hand cleaner for young adults exiting a shop to go to their next class. & Nearly 35 yrs later, Borax made for an excellent hand cleaner for young adults exiting a shop to go to their next class. It still works as an excellent hand cleaner (some people experience irritation..? I've never seen that...); it's granular, it's an exfoliant...if you go to town with an exfoliant on your skin...yeah, you will experience irritation, Borax or not! I think this Borax is much more refined & consistent than competitors' offerings. This makes it easier to use in my opinion...(?) Especially as a booster for laundry detergent because Borax doesn't instantly dissolve in water...it takes time with larger granules and that only makes it less effective & is wasteful...(?). Anyhow, I am willing to recommend this Borax. It's a fine product at an unbelievably fair price. So is 20 Mules! It's just coarse & takes longer to dissolve (that's a limiting factor in my view). BUT! There are few products that I can think of with such a broad use value — do the research! Save money! You've been lied to your entire life!!! ...Well, maybe that's overselling it a bit, but you get my point...(?) BORAX! *DO NOT eat Borax!

Borax works great to rid our yard of pesky wasps.
Pure borax works well as an agent to kill wasps & yellow jackets. Mixing it with orange juice, vinegar and some cat food as an attractant. The wasps get the borax on them and take it back to their nest as well. In a few days there are no more wasps bothering us outside. This product works great. I am alergic to wasp stings, so its great to have something that is so effective.

Staple laundry product.
Need clothes cleaner - buy this. My one con (not enough for star removal) is that its hard to dissolve but not impossible. I add this borax, washing soda and laundry detergent to a bucket, then add hot hot water about 2 cups worth to dissolve all product. Then fill up with room temp water to wash my laundry in a protable washing machine. This borax really gets the dirt out of clothing. You may think your clothes are clean just with laundry detergent but i suggest you buy this mix up some and let clothes soak with it in a tub you will be amazed at all the dirt laundry detergent doesnt remove. Washing soda helps neutralize smells more, borax to remove ground in dirt/oils/bacteria. It works and it works well. The bag it comes it opens easy and closes just as easy. Although I'd prefer a more durable bag as any water getting on it compromises it (the bag) Came well packaged with a plastic bag around it to help with any powder crystals leaking out during transit. Its a staple in my laundry routine.

Very effective for ant bait (Worked on Florida Carpenter Ants)
I live in Texas. I had an infestation of Florida Carpenter Ants (red head, black body) for over a month. This was one of the key ingredients in my quest to exterminate them. I've written some advice below for anyone else who is suffering from a carpenter ant infestation. Most effective baits I used to get rid of my infestation: TERRO T300B Liquid Ant Killer, 12 Bait Stations (make sure you have scissors to open these, the tabs suck) DIY - Mix Powdered Sugar with Baking Soda, put it in a baggie or a lid DIY - Mix Borax (1.5 tablespoons), Warm Water (1.5 cups), and either sugar (0.5 cup) or some peanut butter. Mix well, and then soak a cotton ball into the mixture. ^for this one, I used peanut butter, since I had already set up the baking soda/sugar trap. For all of these traps, you are going to want to place them somewhere near the entrance of where the ants are coming from, out of reach from pets and children. After a few hours, you should start seeing more of them show up. This is because they are hastily working to bring the "food" that they found an abundance of back to their nest. Don't mess with the traps or squish the ants once they start doing this, they are delivering poison to the nest. You can continue killing the ones that are not collecting the bait (e.g. ones that are just wandering around your house--they are either lost or scouting, no reason to keep them alive). Just make sure you throw the dead ants away, so that they don't attract more ants over with their pheromones. If there are locations the ants are falling from, I'd recommend mixing water with dish soap in a (preferably) rectangular bowl with skinny edges, and then placing that under the drop point. This mixture will paralyze the ants and drown them as soon as they touch it. You NEED to use soap--carpenter ants are very good swimmers if the water is not tainted (Dish soap is toxic if ingested, so do not let pets or children near this mixture either). Ants change their mind on what they want to eat every so often, so I'd recommend using all 3 of the baits I listed if you want to get rid of them as fast as possible. If they are not taking any of the 3 baits, there are 2 possibilities: 1) It might be a bad time of the day for them--ants are generally most active at night, and early in the morning; or 2) They are in their mating cycle and have no interest in eating anything. The only advice I can give you for this is, just leave the traps where you had them and wait for them to finish the cycle. If you see winged ants, SQUISH THEM. They are breeders, and they do not collect food. One last piece of advice: Carpenter ants make satellite nests. Their main nest is most likely not in your house--there is a good chance that it is in rotting wood (trees/logs), or in the dirt somewhere near your home's perimeter. Because of this, I'd also recommend looking for an insecticide spray that you can apply to the perimeter. I used "Spectracide Terminate Termite & Carpenter Ant Killer", and while it does work, I would suggest looking for a different one. Its spray pump is VERY annoying to use, and it is electronic, so there is no getting around its tediousness. Just make sure you read up on the insecticide's proper usage before applying it (most of the companies will have a website for this). I hope you found my advice helpful. It took me over a month to get rid of my infestation, since I initially had no clue what I was doing, and was just blindly ordering baits. I felt hopeless, and eventually I called 3 different exterminators... they all tried to get me to do a 1-year "maintenance" contract with no alternatives (over $700!). I spent about $95 trying to get rid of these things by myself. Over half of that money went towards useless bait that they did not care for. If you follow my advice, you will probably be spending under $50. Good luck!
