Catie's Whole Plant Food Greens

I first read about this product in Force of Nature by Laird Hamilton (I think he is an amazing example of realistic functional fitness). Laird had a section about supplements he believes in and this was one of them. I’ve tried several high and low end green powders but none of them have held a flame to Catie’s. I drink it first thing in the morning every day and I feel good knowing that I’m putting a quality clean and mean green sup into my system to help make up for the some of the essentials that I may not always get in my diet each day. Anyway, I feel significantly better circulating this through my system. I feel like it has helped with energy and metabolism as well as appetite management. It mixes great with just about any protein powder and even tastes great on its own. Almost like a chai tea (sorry if you don’t like chai). It’s well worth the cost when you consider that for a little over a dollar a day, you are able to add in the essentials that would cost a lot more per meal if you were to try to eat them straight out. I’m a big believer in this product.

I have been taking these on and off for a few years and have used some other ones on occasion. Among all the ones I have tried I would say these are by far the best. They help with energy and clean your body out. The website and description will tell you what they do but here is my opinion as far taste. Greens are gross, they taste like old garbage for the most part. I prefer to mix with water alone and drink it straight in a few gulps. I have had some from vitamin stores that were so bad I had to throw them away. Amazing Grass sells chocolate flavored and other flavors that are good but the greens themselves don't have as much in them. The Catie's greens are actually not bad compared to others. After a few days you can sort of acquire a taste to it. My recommendation is to mix it with cold water and just chug it fast. I found that mixing it with juice or anything creates a certain kind of gross that can be difficult to shake. Mixing in Berries is super gross as it makes it taste fowl and chunky.I have added some to full fruit smoothies and the taste is more disguised but you end up with a not very good smoothie that takes longer to drink than a few good gulps would. I always use a blender like a Bullet or a stick blender to mix it up. The makes is smoother and gets rid of any gross greens chunks.

After reading about this in Best Life in an article that Laird Hamilton wrote, I decided to give it a try. I use it to make shakes for myself and my husband with kefir, pomengranate powder, and frozen berries. I also add it to Odwalla juices mixed with water for my 3 year old and it totally keeps all of us regular! We aren't always good about getting in enough green veggies each day and I feel better knowing this takes care of that. I made a shake for a girlfriend that visited us and she felt so much better that when she returned home, she started making the same shakes and she is hooked.

I don't always get my daily allowance of fruits and veggies. I just want to be a carnivore I guess.... But over the last two months, I've started my days off with a smoothie featuring Catie's Organic Greens and I've noticed a change in my energy levels. I use a scoop of Catie's stuff, a scoop of protein powder, a scoop of Acai powder, a cup of soy milk, a cup of frozen blueberries, two bananas and a handful of ice cubes. Right there I have a great start to my day, diet wise. Added bonus: When I have my smoothies in the morning, it really helps out with my terrible sweet tooth. Not sure if this is a direct connection.... but I notice it. I took a star off due to the taste. I just can't agree with some of the other reviewers. If I wasn't mixing it with a bunch of other stuff, I don't think I'd be able to take this everyday. Being this healthy, I guess it's not supposed to taste great!

These greens are amazing...recommended by a guy at work and now I'm hooked. Great tasting (compared to other green drinks), lasts about a month like it says and reasonably priced considering. You can bulk purchase in groups of 6 or 12 to lower the cost but I would try just one if you have never had greens before. Could be placebo effect but 4 months in I've lost about 10lbs. and now my wife is hooked. Once in the morning n we are done. Feel full throughout the day, seem to eat less now n generally feel better than I used to. I really do attribute it all to these greens because I haven't really changed any other habits in my life i.e. Whiskey, working out, etc...anyways...worked great for me, now working for my wife and I highly recommend these greens to you as they were recommended to me.

Out of all the hard-to-choose from green powders out there, this is the best one I've tried on the market. Price point is good and the ingredients are high-quality. Exactly what I want to get my extra greens in. The taste is so much better than any others, too! The stevia leaf makes it just sweet enough so I can either drink it with water or put it in smoothies.

I have been using this product daily for 6 years . Something is different in the taste and perhaps the ingredients as listed on the label. I have contacted the company directly regarding my issue with their product and have not gotten any response . I will be looking for a replacement product in the future .
