Is infrared better than steam?

It depends on your goals. Infrared saunas are super trendy now BUT beware cheaper versions may expose you to high EMF frequncies. Steam rooms are traditional old school. Very good for clearing pores and cleansing skin. If you add natural oils like eucalyptus the steam is good for your lungs. Infrared is more whole body cleanser so if you want something traditional for skin and lungs, steam is best. If you want a mre general cleanse and you’re not worried about EMF then infrared might be what you want. Personally the EMF thing bothers me but not everyone.

What level of EMF's does this sauna emit?

I tested this myself with the Meterk EMF Meter Electromagnetic Field Radiation Detector (from Amazon), and I was getting reading well over 100 mg (milligauss).  Pretty much all the literature states anything over 2 mg is dangerous.   Even with the probe dead center of the sauna, I was still getting 50-75 mg.

Question 3

I see the steam room is listed to get to 140F....How hot can I expect the infrared dry sauna to get?

The sauna is supposed to get to 140F ... and depending on where the temperature is taken it does.  The controller is not in the unit but outside of it, and it's probe for reading the temperature is high up in the back of the unit.  Therefore the controller rarely indicates temperatures above 110F on my unit.  However a thermometer placed on one of the 3 heating panels inside the unit will reach 140F and sufficient heat is generated between the 3 panels to eventuate the desired result (sweating)  in about 20 minutes.

Question 4

The first time i used the sauna it worked great. the second tume i plugged it in, the red light was flashing. what does this mean?

Hi, our sincere apologies.  Please try to unplug the unit to the power source for a few minutes. Set the temperature of the unit again the check if it is working.
