The product is good for what it is. Wanted to give the product a higher rating than 2, but for some reason the feedback system will not allow me to enter a 3.5 or 4 star rating. This is a good product for the home gardener. In a few weeks when I inspect the grafts made with this tool and the percentage of graft takes, I will have a better information about the value of this kit at that time. It would of been nice if information was provided on how to touch up or sharpen the grafting tool blades. A dull grafting blade yields poor per centage of graft takes. Like the solft cloth case for transporting the kit and keeping all the tools together. For the price it should do the job if blades are sharp. Might make a good gift for a gardener wanting to ty their hand at grafting. I purchased the kit because it easy to use, portable, and the grafting tools can be kept all together in one small case to a small tree grafting site.

Nice pocket and instruments but had some trouble using them adequately

Didn’t come with a manual. Only with the instructions that Amazon provides, which is not helpful. My brother was trying to remove one of the blades and cut his finger very badly, it made a deep cut which needed stitches. Didn’t realize the blade was sharp in both sides. The description of what it does looks great but it would be helpful if it came with a proper manual. Haven’t used it yet. Price was very reasonable. Hope it works as described and learn how to use it.

Excellent product. Blade is very sharp and does a good job cutting. Using this tool I was able to do 30 whip grafts using the omega cutting blade in about an hour. I did have to change blades after about 50 grafts because it was starting to crush the wood rather than cutting it.One tip that will really help your grafting is to use a pair of digital calipers to ensure you are matching the exact size of your scion and rootstock. You will get a very tight union if you do this.Overall excellent product that will allow you to really create a tight graft union. Happy grafting!

These shears worked even better than I’d hoped! They cut through small branches with ease, and make a tight fit of 2 parts a snap. Please note, however, that if joining branches of different diameters, it can be tricky, as the cambium layers need to match perfectly for a graft to take place. I’ll attempt to do that (as a test) and join only half of the cambium, to see if it can work. I’ll get back to the review if it works to let you know.

I have several fruit trees that I have used grafting tool on and the ease of use is great! The ease of switching cutters is easy ilf there is anything I could improve on is the wrench, I use a socket wrench to tighten nut now. Wrench is fine just quicker for me to use socket wrench. I plan on grafting some flowering bushes next and I know I will have great success!

The product came in well packaged and looks very functional but I won't be able to see how good it works until next spring here in Maine when the temperature is right for grafting.

I like:Case for tool. Well designed and seems to be rugged.Tool feels solid and well made. Have only practiced grafting cuts(10) Really easy to use and get matching cuts for joining cuttings. Now February 2012 have cuttings from 5 apple trees, march will do grafting to trees. A few years back I tried cuttings onto 26 root stock not one success. Will try and get root stock and try again. This tool struck me as good value for the money; it has three blades for doing v, u and omega cuts and seems well-made and sturdy enough to handle small grafting projects like for bougainvillea and hibiscus; however, the orange anvil that came with it had only the "U" shape blade pre-etched or grooved on its surface. There are no pre-etched grooves for making v or omega cuts. This renders the two blades practically useless as the absence of the grooves makes it impossible to do a clean and complete cut. The reason for this is the two blades tended to be blocked by the shoulders of the anvil. I have drooping branches on my bougainvillea I want to graft and would want to use an omega cut to help ensure the scion does not fall off. As a result, the tool is less than useful than I had hoped. I am not sure if the manufacturer has anvils for the omega and v cuts that can be separately purchased. It would be even better if they have an anvil that has all grooves for the three blades. I definitely would want those so I can have this tool for keeps. Also, the screwdriver that came with the gadget does not have a snug fit and tended to slip. If they make these improvements, I think this tool would be perfect.

Firstly, it’s so nice to have one day service back! This is part of a Father’s Day gift formy dad who is an avid gardener. It comes ina nice zippered hard case and seems to be very well constructed for the money. It’s a nice touch that they included a Phillip’s screwdriver and wrench. I think would make a nice present for a gardener.
