We rescued a neurotic terrier mix a few years ago and have had the hardest time getting him to eat. The vet even prescribed him mirtazapine to boost his appetite. Our concerns with mirtaz were 1) he was already on fluoxetine, so serotonin syndrome was a real possibility, and 2) his aggressiveness increased while on the drug (not necessarily a bad thing for this shy, neurotic dog, but it was verging on too much). We have tried fresh and freeze-dried raw food, homemade food, expensive food, cheap food, rotisserie chicken mix-in, ghrelin receptor agonists, etc... pretty much everything. Then, Amazon recommended the four-flavor variety pack of Beaumont Basics Flavor topper, and I took a shot in the dark --I liked that it was a powder that reportedly coated dry food, and I have been dreaming of the day when I didn't have to spend so much time preparing his meals, only for him to nibble a bit (if that) then walk away. Long story shorter, he loved the white cheddar flavor (the others, not so much, but that didn't surprise me because he's not a beef lover, he's been spoiled with rotisserie chicken, and he absolutely cannot stand peanut butter). He now eats his dry food (Science Diet sensitive skin & stomach) when I add a couple shakes of the white cheddar powder and shake it around to coat the kibble. He loves it, he's happier, he acts like a *real* dog with a lot more energy, and he plays with our other terrier a lot more. I absolutely recommend this to other people with picky-eater pets. I would note that the white cheddar is the most powdery and coats the food better than the other flavors.

Honestly, there’s nothing wrong with this product, I only took off one star because I just hate the top… it makes it really inconvenient to “shake” or “pour” the powder out. I’ve bought this product other places, but it was the smaller size and the top was different… had 3 little holes to shake it out rather than one big hole. So with this one big hole top, every time I try to pour it onto my dog’s food, a ton of powder comes out. Too much, it’s kind of a waste of product so you go through it faster than normal too.

My chunky girl absolutely loves this topper! We have tried the cheese in other brands but this one is her favorite. She has went through times where she can be very picky with her food, which is surprising for a bulldog but its true. Her going off of her food is what led us to try toppers to begin with. If you have a picky dog and are struggling for them to just please please pleaseeee eatttttt - we've all been there. I suggest you give this topper a try!

Probably any dog who likes cheese would enjoy this seasoning on their food. However, I have the pickiest Shih Tzu in the world! He absolutely goes crazy over cheese; so I bought this flavoring with the hope that I could get him to eat his dog food. He took one smell of it and stuck up his nose and ambled away. So sad! He usually only wants the solid cheese squares my husband feeds our puppy to keep from getting bit while he puts his collar on him. He's at the mouthing stage, and cheese works wonders! This is probably a five star flavoring, but it just didn't impress my puppy.

I have a picky dog who’s also allergic to beef, is pretty meh about chicken, and was finally content with salmon dog food. He still wasn’t super excited about breakfast or dinner and would slowly pick at his food. He would barely eat a cup a day! But with this topper, he devoured his bowl within minutes. He loves it! I will definitely keep buying this

My doggies havent tried them yet, but so far it looks good, packaging and shipping is fast. Will update once my doggies tried it
