I have purchased external cd/dvd drives, but they won't work with movies and projectors, I get video but no audio? They all say "enjoy movies" but no.

Not sure if this is your problem, but it says in the details...fine print, that this unit does not play Blu-ray DVDs. It was the deal breaker for me. If I am buying an external drive, it is going to need to do it all. 10 dollars either way is not worth any limitations

It comes with a protective carrying case and both the CD DVD Drive and the protective case were inside another zip-lock protective covering. On the outside zip-lock bag it clearly states that the external CD DVD Drive is new. I was really impressed with how securely it was packed. It is performing excellently.
