It is a well made part.
Did not fit my 79 Chevy truck. Evidentially, my 79 had a 78 steering column that is different. I suggest a person should verify if the column has a screw to hold the lock in or to take it out before ordering. Even though your column is a stock79 you have to remember General Motors uses left over earlier parts to get rid of them.
