ULTRANGER Ranger Soft UHMWPE Synthetic Shackle Rope 1/2 Inch (42,000 LBs Breaking Strength, WLL 15,000 LBs)

bought these while building an offroad recovery("I'm stuck")kit. I wanted to build a kit with no metal shackles or cables..steel has alot of mass,which is good when it comes to their strength but bad when it breaks and is flying airborne towards you,your spouse or your vehicle..also steel sinks while synthetic floats. have you ever dropped your steel d shackle in muddy water and spent minutes scanning your hand underwater trying to find where it went? these shackles float if you accidently drop them. they also don't rust. they also don't store energy meaning if they break they just drop to the ground safely. I chose these over the bubba rope shackles because of lower price for practically the same exact product. I like the hi-viz color. would be nice in bright blue also. I've used these with a 5000lb suv giving me a 6:1 safety factor. keep in mind if your stuck your pulling not only your vehicle weight but also some extra to counter external variables. but for anything up to a 1/2 ton maybe 3/4 ton pickup i'd feel safe using these. above those weight consider maybe a 7/16" or 1/2" shackle.

Ranger's products seem to be very high quality, love these soft shackles, I will be buying a few more to add to my kit.
