Just plain works. Like any other, if a tight plug is removed from the splitter, it will want to back out of the receptacle.

Helps to add outlets
I like that this plugs into either the top or bottom of the outlet. I get to plug in 3 appliances and the bottom outlet is still usable. It works great, just plug it into the existing outlet. I use it for a can opener, food processor, and stand mixer. I am not sure how it works for appliances that pull heat such as a toaster or air fryer.
