In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.

Great shoe for indoor or out
I ordered my usual shoe size and it fits perfect... excellent ankle support and comfort... well constructed yet they weigh little. This mid-top especially great for outdoor grass volleyball which I do a lot of. Grass courts will often have wear spots and uneven surfaces that can easily tweak an ankle and then there is the occasional opponent's foot that lands on my side of the court... well, this shoe can help prevent injury. I highly recommend this shoe!

Just about as awesome as the previous version
For whatever reason, I seem to really like ASICS shoes. I have flat feet, a bit wide, and ASICS work for me. These Gel-Volleycross 4s are great. I wear them walking around, or at the gym. There isn't a single complaint I have. I bought them because I have had a lot of success with the previous version, the Volleycross 3s. I loved the fit of those shoes, as well as the styling, black with silver trim. I don't normally buy a lot of white shoes, but I overlooked that small personal preference because of my history with this shoe. Perhaps the 3s felt a bit more cushion-y, but I love the 4s. Good support and traction. My other workout shoes also happen to be ASICS Men's GEL-Nimbus 15 Running Shoe.

Volleycross is a great hubrid of volleyball and running technology and i am ...
As a semi-professional volleyball player (outside hitter) i have always looked for a shoe that would provide not only stability (guaranteed by the mid-top cut of this shoe) but also cushioning to eradicate the pain in the ankles and knees from continuous jumping. And there it is! Volleycross is a great hubrid of volleyball and running technology and i am very pleased with it since the first moment. Runs true to size but it's a bit narrow in width, so if you have flat feet maybe you should consider some other options. An extra plus is its looks wich are quite impressive!

awesome shoes!
I bought these in my usual size. Fits perfectly. Very comfortable and good cushioning for landing. I was a little put off the fact that they are somewhat "high-tops" but the more i use them the more i realize that there really isn't that much difference. buying matching neon laces to really pop out! when shuffling back and fourth i feel alot more stable then my old Mizunos. They fit perfectly for me. I have wide feet with no arch so the first 15 minutes of play felt funny but as i continued they just started working the way they should. I recommend this for those who have no arch or even a small arch with wide feet.

Excellent traction, comfort and shock absorption
This show is awesome! Great design and performance and fits perfectly. Two things though:1. The shoe is not as mid top as I expected it to be. I have another Asics mid top pair and it they are much higher with more ankle support (maybe I didn't get the MT one?.... ).2. It took 15-20 minutes of mild pain for the foot to adjust to the shoe. All in all, very good product.

Bright, comfortable, and great grip, at a reasonable cost.
Great arch support, and the most grip I've played with (although I haven't used Mizuno's yet, they seem pretty similar in court grip). They're comfortable, and the slightly higher ankle area helps keep you a little more stable. The color choices are also way more fun than most others, which is unusual for men's volleyball shoes. They're not cheap, and I wouldn't pay over $100 for them, but you can get them now for a little less than $100 if you shop around. If you can get them at $100 or less, they're worth the cost.

Excellent. Best Asics ever bought
I am 44 and still playing volley in national senior tournaments. I needed more cushioning for my weight (100kg) and definitively, this shoes has it.I feel them as very stable in lateral movements and they are also very light. I used more than four Asics models lately, most of them really good, but this are by far the best.Felt a little narrow at the beginning, but after a couple of training sessions and a match, they adapted to my feet.

Overall Decent Shoe but poor durability
I play racquetball at an AA/Open level and have had these shoes break on me twice. I sent the first pair back and the second pair did the same thing. The sole seems to come apart where it is glued on the side. As such the flap that breaks off from the sole catches when you push off laterally. I honestly think it is just a bad design and or manufacturing defect, but after two pairs I was convinced a third pair will do the same thing. Both pairs that I have had came apart within 2-4wks with me playing 2-3x/wk. Also I rate the traction after 2 years a 6/10. They are horrible now but were pretty good to start. On dusty floors now they are useless as the rubber has worn down and brittle as to be expected after 2 years of heavy use. I can not comment on outside play as I don't play outside much. Typically I choose Asics for lots of support but as a court shoe, this one obviously doesn't excel in that category either.
