Worked well and I can confirm that this is, in fact, pure alumina!
While I didn't exactly use this for the intended purpose, I can tell you that it is definitely pure alumina, AKA Aluminum (III) Oxide, and successfully let me grow homemade rubies!

Beautiful Polishing Powder!
Shipped super fast right to my door, and despite the lid being broken a small bit in one spot and the delivery guys leaving it on my doorstep in the pouring rain and wind storm, this powder was well worth the price! After just 2 days I snuck a peek at my tumbler and the rocks are already starting to be vibrant and so smooth and shiny. Can't wait to see them after the 7 days!

Does not polish
Purchased this to try as the price was good and product listed at 1500 grit. Previously was using 1200 aluminum oxide from Another vendor on Amazon. Ran for 5 days and no visible polish to stones. Ran a second time with ceramic media highly polished from other tumbler in finishing stage. Thoroughly cleaned with soap cycle . Ran again another 5 days and no polish. The polish may have 1500 grit particles but likely it is contaminated with coarser material. Unfortunately it won’t be useable for polishing. The label says #4 polishing but on same label said for rough tumbling which does not make sense. Would not recommend. I tumble a lot of material and have never had this poor of a result.
