Excellent choice for vehicles with 3 row seating & >1-2 charger ports
Great set up... I have a Chrysler Pacifica and when I plug it in to my lighter port, the cord terminates around the middle-back of the second row of seating, which allows anyone in my "bus" to access the charging port.I was under the impression that this would rapidly charge my phone, but I haven't noticed that it charges any faster than previous charging cables that I've used. Regardless, it solves the problem of only being able to charge one or two devices at o once and that has meant FAR less fighting over who gets to use it first!I have only used it to charge iPhones and my Bluetooth headset, but it works well and has nice, tight connectors. Far better than many I've tried in the past that work well for a few weeks until the USB contact becomes "loose" and the charger becomes unreliable.

Power to the people
PROS:Five USB portsFive foot cableUp to 2.4 amps per portEasy to useHook for back seat pocketCONS:Awkward placement of the 2 USB ports on plug dongleCord not retractable2 amps per port or less likely the average amperage when every port is in useHook comes detached easily and can be lostThe Rapid X5 USB charger solves an old dilemma very easily--what do you do if you have one of those older cars or minivans where you don't have USB charge ports sticking out of every nook and crannie. You get a front, cigarette lighter USB dongle with two charge ports connected to a 5 foot cable that can extend the 3 remaining ports to the back of the car. And it works beautifully. With three kids sitting in the back of my sedan, there was finally quiet. I didn't have to remember to take that extra battery pack and everyone had a place to connect their smart phone. No more unplugging the GPS to make room for one of the kids phone. No more arguments about whose power was lower and needed the boost. Just quiet. Driving nirvana.Of course, there are still some bumps in the rode for the X5.Problem #1: the two front USB ports are awkwardly placed. The cigarette lighter dongle is a little short, leaving only a little tail sticking out. This means that the front USB ports are close together, so if you have a rather fat USB plug on your charge cord, you may not be able to use both at the same time. Moreover, you really need to plug in your devices before you start your engines. It can be done but engaging even one USB cord in the front dongle after you plug it in takes considerable manual dexterity. This is especially true for the port closest to the cigarette lighter.Problem #2: the cord is not retractable. As great as this thing is when you have passengers in the back seat that need power, it would be nice if you could retract the long cord to keep it out of the way and so you could use the more widely spaced, easier to access, USB ports in extention.More minor quibbles: the maximal amperage per port is 2.4 amps--this is really great. The problem is that the maximum output for most cigarette lighter power sources is 10 amps. So if all five devices are connected, you could only get a maximum of 2 amps per device (in reality it is probably less). This isn't such a big deal, as on a car trip any kind of power is better than no power at all. The next minor issue is the detachable hook for the back seat. The hook snaps on and off easily. It certainly works as directed but I've lost it in the car a number of times. At some point, I imaging it will be lost forever. It might have made sense to make the hook integral to the back ports so it attached more firmly and would not get lost. That said, for this parent, expanding to 3 USB ports in the back was a car-trip life changer. Version 2.0 for the X5 should have a larger front dongle, a retractable cord, and an integrated hook. But even as it stands, this is a great way to give power to the people. Recommended.

Road Trip Livesaver
I have four kids and our new van doesn't have a built in DVD player so we got them all tablets. This thing was a life saver for plugging in all of their devices and keeping them charges so Mommy and Daddy can stay sane in an enclosed vehicle for 16 hours with four little kids. I didn't notice any strain on the battery, everything worked great.

rapid charger
I've bought some other chargers from different places but this one is a 5star because it does charge the way it has to charge very fast and for a cheap price

You'll ask why yo didn't buy sooner!
In today's world we are constantly plugged in. This cigarette plug has 2 USB plugs and then the extended cord allows 3 more to charge. Perfect for tablets & ipads of littles in the back seats watching cartoons & movies. I ask my self how I lived with out this before! I am purchasing 3 more to make sure we have one in each vehicle. LOL There is also a model that supports the new Type-C chargers

Literally lasted less then 30 seconds
I purchased for long road trip-packed it up and got about 100 miles from home when i decided to plug in and use. Worked great for about 30 seconds then died-nothing-not even a hint of connectivity. I had ordered two. When i got home 30 days later i tried the other one-same thing. I had thrown the packaging away and assumed i was out the money I’d spent. Very disappointed -the design was perfect and would have been the best travel accessory ever if it had worked. Tried them both in a different car just to make sure-still nothing. Tried iPhone and droid phone just to triple check i wasn’t missing something as well as each of the outlets. Score of 1-100….. 0-I got nuttin’. Maybe I got two of a bad batch but pp
