Well, that was disappointing...
Imagine my disappointment when I added this pectin to my beautiful pink-hued rhubarb juice (for rhubarb jelly) and it turned an unsavory shade of brown (trying to keep it PG). Don't get me wrong, all the other attributes touted in the description were accurate and it looks like it will gel nicely, but the presentation of brown jelly as part of my holiday gift baskets is less than appealing. I did give it 4 stars as it seems to be a wonderful product that works well. Maybe I should have done more research before mixing the apple with the tart rhubarb - some weird reaction, perhaps?

made in China, too dark
It's made in China! And it's too dark, it changes the color of the jam. It tastes sour. Where did the good American pectin go?

Good for fillings
I used this to thicken up a pie filling. It seems to work pretty well. It did take a little effort to dissolve, but then it did thicken up nicely. I don’t notice any weird tastes and I didn’t have any issues with it.

Bitter and clumpy powder
I have ordered this product before without problems. This last time, the apple pectin powder was extremely bitter and did not dissolve in water when stirred. Previous orders had a neutral but not unpleasant taste. Also, previous orders had the powder dissolving easily in water when stirred. This time, the powder clumped into bitter globular. I take apple pectin to aid my digestion, at the direction of my GI medical practioner. This last batch was so bad, I was tempted not to take it, but I did. Having to take this three times a day took a lot of will dissapointing. but it shoul not be that way. Very dissapointing.

Made in China
Look, this product is made in China. Had I known that, I wouldn’t have purchased it. Nothing indicates where it is sourced or made until I received it. Deliberate attempt to conceal the origin of the product. Consumers should know what they are getting— honesty is paramount!
