You need to practice
Making ice cream is not as simple as I thought. The main problem with this item is judging how long to leave the basin in the freezer before using. I'm constant getting it too cold resulting in a thick layer of frozen ice cream building up on thr edges of the basin. It will take a lot of practice to get right. Otherwise assembly is reasonably simple , again after a bit of practice . Cleaning is straight forward although care needs to be taken as the top is basic hard plastic.

Brilliant
This ice-cream maker is gd I didn't recommend it at first as had a problem it not thickening the mixture up thicker but once I got hang of it it made wonderfully chocolate chip ice cream all I did was put the bowl in freezer over nite made the mixture put it in the frigde for about 5hrs took the bowl out of freezer put the mixture in turned it on it made perfect ice cream so I would recommend to others I'll give this 5 stars brill once u get the hang of it

Faulty product
Sadly, this had to be returned due to being faulty. From the first use, it was making a high pitched noise. I contacted Lakeland customer help line and she advised that it definitely shouldn't be making the sound she could hear over the phone and advised I return the item. Lakeland were great, and refund from Amazon was prompt.

If you want to make ice cream for the first time this is a little belter
Wow what a great machine - churned a lovely healthy ice cream in it. Great price and also the Lakeland 3 year guarantee. A big little machine. Easy to clean. I didn't find the spout an issue I just used a jug to pour in the mixture

Fragile
Works ok but the paddle and churning mechanism are both a bit plastic fantastic and I'm not convinced it will last. Disappointing for a Lakeland product and given the price, the functionality is extremely minimalistic. Had I known I would have just chosen a cheaper model to achieve the same thing.
