Fisher-Price Newborn Toys Rattle 'n Rock Maracas, Set of 2 Soft Musical Instruments for Babies 3+ Months, Blue & Orange

I bought these for my grandson when he was about 3 months old. At that age he wasn't quite ready to play with them, but once he got a little older they quickly became one of his favorite toys. Now at 9 months, he reaches for them all the time. He loves shaking them to make noise, and it's so fun watching his face light up every time. Here are a few things I really like: Bright, colorful design that grabs his attention Easy for little hands to hold Lightweight and perfect to pack in a diaper bag for trips Great quality for the price One thing to be aware of: once babies start enthusiastically shaking them, they may accidentally bonk themselves (or you!) in the face. It has happened a few times, but it hasn't been a big issue. They've held up very well with frequent use, and I expect they'll still be in great shape for future grandchildren. I included a couple of photos so you can see the size in a baby's hands. I'd definitely buy these again!

They’re durable, vibrant colors, soft, they’re a little loud but my baby loves it lol! They’re stretchy where seem to be easy to clean as well. I think this is good for hand movements and is also just very engaging!

I bought these to have for two expected grand babies when they visit. These are cute and colorful, with one soft puffy end and one hard end that rattles. They are larger and heavier than I expected for a baby rattle, but they get great reviews and should be fine for a baby who is several months old. Not sure I'd describe them as newborn toys, though. A couple of reviews suggested putting the rattle in a little baby's hands so the soft end is at the top so they don't hit themselves in the face with the hard end. I'm giving them 5 stars although I've not seen them "in action" yet. They are nicely boxed if you're gifting them.

I purchased the Fisher Price Rattle ‘n Rock Maracas for my niece’s birthday celebration and she loves them! She ignored all the other toys and picked them up and didn’t put them down until she tuckered herself out. The maracas have a soft bottom and are really easy for the baby to grip, perfect for little hands. There are colorful beads that rattle around, which makes the sounds, that my niece truly enjoyed. The ends are certainly soft, just in case your child gets a little excited and bumps themselves with the toy, they can laugh it off. Also, The Rattle ‘n Rock is great for chewing! I would be sure to keep this toy clean, aside from shaking, chewing seems to be her next favorite thing to do with them. In Addition, according to some research I did before purchase, they are said to strengthen her sensory and gross motor skills. You cannot beat this price! And with Amazon Prime I got free two-day shipping, just in time for the big day! I highly recommend!

These are really great rattles and especially good if you have a little one like mine, that unfailing tries to bash himself in the face with whatever is to hand. Being new to the whole parent thing I did wonder what the padded balls at one end were for, and only after the third time he successfully hit himself in the face with them did I have that eureka (or felt a bit dumb) moment and said 'ohhhh, that's why...' So providing you place them the right way up in their little hands (and luckily I did), they can shake away to their hearts content (ours goes mental with them) safe in the knowledge that when they do have a slight coordination failure, their face will be be on the receiving end of the padded bit. Genius bit of kit!
