It is porter cable quality and it is a beast
These lugs were put on my a oil change place. They always over torque them. As you can see. Worked great. There were a couple reviews that made me cautious about buying this one. "This isn't a porter cable of old" Yes it is. This tool is a well made beast.took off two lugs almost instantly with no air needed "Not powerful" yeah once again I've used others that were weak like battery ones that give the rating in foot inches. Lol this one works perfect. "The tool is too heavy". Yeah I kinda feel like that is a good thing. Air tools are light because they have no motor. This has a motor and it is 7.5 horse and strong. I mean. I think it should be heavy and it is. Well made heavy metal case I love not buying Chinese knock off tools. I've learned in the first 50 years of my life cheap Chinese knock offs are horrible. Even if this thing is made in China. It works well. Feels good in the hand and works. I'll add this name to names of tools I'll buy in the future. It wasn't cheap but it wasn't overly expensive either. This is perfect for the shade tree mechanic like me to help me with jobs I don't want to do, but do because my tools make the work a lot easier. Porter Cable to me is quality.

Inexpensive workhorse
I bought this with the intention of changing all struts to my 2004 Honda CR-V. This wrench performed admirably. A couple of seized bolts halted progress, but bigger air wrenches couldn't get them off either, so it definitely wasn't the fault of the unit. With the right penetrant to help(I ended up using acetone and ATF fluid in a 50/50 mix, sprayed onto the seized bolt), this wrench is unstoppable. Are there features I wish it had? Sure - it's only got one speed in each direction. It's pretty large and heavy. And obviously it being corded means you have to be tethered to an extension cord. But for the price? Come on... I dare you to do better. Yes, the size is huge and it can be cumbersome in tight spots. That's why you get extension bars and swivel bars. Even with the smaller units, you'll eventually need this stuff anyways because not even the smallest of units can get into the tightest of spots. The job was a success, and now I have a good impact wrench that makes quick work of changing tires, and makes for a lot of help with any other task you can throw at it. Just be sure to get a good socket set. I got a regular metric and deep metric (Hondas are all about the metric - obviously get what's suitable for your situation), along with an extension bar set and swivel. All of these accessories can be had for about $40~50 total. So for $130 you have an impact wrench with plenty of power, can handle any socket you need, and with the extension bars and swivel, it can handle any tight spots that inevitably come up. And yes, it's corded but hey - it means you never have to charge it. :) UPDATE - After my initial purchase this thing has now helped me replace front lower control arms, sway bar end links on my Honda Odyssey, and has helped me do a couple of brake jobs as well. Still has no problem taking big bolts off. Best $80 tool I've purchased.

Beefy Quality, Got to Me in One Day !
My Porter Cable impact wrench came in ONE DAY from CPO, that is impressive ! I did a lot of research on air wrenches vs electric impact wrenches and I decided I didn't want to mass with the hoses, and oil and such. I was buying this tool for one bolt, that's all. The Porter Cable took it off in 2 seconds, maybe 2 1/2. Without it I would have likely messed around with that bolt holding a fly wheel covering the front crankshaft seal on my 2000 Saab 9-5 with a breaker bar and a pipe and a helper . . . An impact wrench was recommended for removal and installation. No complaints ! Worked perfectly. The wrench weighs 8 pounds, really beefy and is big - 12" long (add a couple 3 inches for the socket), 8" down the handle, so not for tight spaces. You need to go small air wrench for that. If you are smaller you can use two hands. There was no torquing of my arm and only slight vibration transferred. Very high quality. I went against the advice of a buddy who told me, "There is no reason for guys our age to buy tools, someone has one you can borrow." In this case it would have been several hours of travel just to borrow one. I got this fast, the job is done, worth every penny. Now, what else can I used it for . . .

Worked great for about 11 months, then died
I used this to update my front suspension and steering on my 12 y/o car. Everything was oem and pretty stuck on there, this got bolts off no problem. Real heavy and big so some tight spots are hard to get to. I actually think it may be unreasonably big for the torque values but it's cheap and feels very robust so I'm ok with that. While finishing up a job the other day, the impact stopped working. The motor buzzes but doesnt move at all. Will continue to update if porter cable honors the warranty(I think its 1 year, if not, meh). A factory rebuild is only like 40 bucks through dewalt, so we'll see. Likely going to move to Ridgid(Home depot house brand) cordless impact. the 18v 1 mode from them is about twice the price for better torque and better shape. Takeaway: If you don't do too much work, this will probably last a lifetime. I constantly work on my car and this tool is both cumbersome and fragile it seems. For $70 bucks, it cant be beat.

I went way too long without this!
I do my own maintenance including tire rotations and have always wanted something to break loose the lugs. My small compressor won’t run an air impact wrench and the battery ones lack gusto. Decided to give this one a try and WOW I’m impressed. The lugs on my F150 are tightened to about 110 ft lbs and this wrench removed them easily. No more back breaking and sweating yanking on a breaker bar. Yes it’s big and heavy but that’s how it gets the job done. I think it’s a fair price too for Porter Cable quality tools. Buy this you won’t regret it!

Works! Better than consumer grade air impact
I went to rotate my tires and it appears the last garage monkey to touch my truck ran the lugs on with an impact and didn't use a torque stick. He ran them on so tight the lugs were twisted in a spiral. I broke out my cheap consumer grade air impact and it wouldn't budge them. I hemmed and hawwed about taking them into a shop to have them rotated but I figured another garage monkey would just screw that up. I thought about guying a shop grade air impact but then figured I'd need a better compressor. I ran across the electric unit and was surprised they can now deliver 450 ft/lbs or torque. The reviews were good so I decided to give it a shot. It worked like a charm! It's much bigger and heavier than an air impact but considering I don't need to drag out the compressor, air hose, etc it's worth it for me. I use an impact maybe 5 - 6 times per year. This is perfect and way more convienent. I will say if you are dealing with really, really tough to remove bolts, give it a few seconds. It seems to ramp up the torque over 5 or 10 seconds. There were a few lugs where it didn't budge them at first but you can hear the sound change and within a few seconds it spun them off.

Lots of power, 450 ft/ lbs. Easy to use
I just used this to take off all 20 lug nuts on a 2002 Odyssey, I torque it a bit more than 80 foot pounds, probably 90 or 95 ft/ lbs because I put them on a bit tighter than spec torque and this impact wrench took them off in about 2-3 seconds each, it's effortless and there are people who complain about the weight but the weight comes from the motor so the heavier it is the stronger the motor, you want that. It weighs 7.8 lbs and is not quiet but it's not that loud, it will not hurt your ears at all in a garage. The torque on the hands when operating is minimal, it will not shear off your wrists at all. I'm a small guy with medium sized hands who probably can only bench press about 80-90 lbs, and this thing is great. I do not understand when I see reviews on other electric impact wrenches saying oh no, 9 lbs, too heavy, it makes no sense at all. I have included every picture you can think of, this thing is 450 foot/ lbs, I saw somewhere in the description it said 450 inch pounds, that's false, that's a typo. I read the reviews for the weaker version of this that said something like 220 ft/ lbs and it was ok strength, this thing has a beefier front section, it has no problems with 90 foot pound lug nuts. check out the video and pictures I attached,[...] thanks. almost forgot it has a rocker switch, up is reverse ( take off stuff) and the down is forwards. Do not use this to put the lugs nuts back on, you will cross thread them and even if you don't you will destroy the wheel studs because you are over tightening them. use your own ratchet or breaker bar or torque wrench.

Excellent tool, loads of power.
Excellent tool. Great price. I bought it to replace an ageing air impact wrench. Loads of power, makes short work of wheel lug bolts. It would be nice to have variable speed but at the price I can't complain. Now I don't have to fire up the air compressor or lug it to the work area every time I want to use an impact wrench.

Easily removed a rusty wheel hub nut torqued at over 190 Ft/Lbs
I purchased this to remove a wheel nut that I wasn't able to move at all using a breaker bar and a torque wrench. It removed it in 10 seconds without any issues. I also used it on some rusted caliper bolts and again it easily did what it was supposed to do. Changing tires with this will be an absolute piece of cake. If you're planning on doing some work on your brakes or suspension, I strongly recommend also buying a long 1/2 extension. This impact wrench is pretty bulky so it may not always fit inside of the wheel even if you jack the car up. An extension will give you far more flexibility without the frustration of being stuck against an axle or a control arm for instance.
