Don't do what I did
This is a good generator at a decent price point. It offers 3500W max, remote start and dual fuel... all for under $1000. It arrived quickly and performed as advertised. After a 30 minute break-in run and associated oil change, I ran it for brief periods to check that it would serve our needs with our travel trailer and it worked well. I drained the fuel, disconnected the battery, and put it away for the winter. We didn't use it during the camping season, but I needed it for an event in October, so I took it out of storage, refueled and reconnected the battery, and it started up, no problem. Then I did something stupid... UPDATE: I bought another of these generators and found that the manufacturer had redesigned the wiring harness for the battery making it impossible to connect the harness incorrectly, thus preventing my stupid mistake, which I will now - for posterity’s sake - describe: I disconnected the battery and then reconnected it a couple of days later when I needed to use it. Somehow, in an obviously delirious state, I connected the battery to the wrong connector (still not sure how I did that, but I am getting older) and it fried the circuit board electronics. I didn't realize it at first, and the generator wouldn't start. Then I saw the telltale white acrid smoke and I knew something was wrong. At first I blamed the machine, but once I discovered my error, I reconnected it properly and the generator started promptly. The electrical output tested properly and everything seemed to be functioning to spec except that the digital readout was no longer working. I'm not sure that I will continue to use this generator; I'm not sure how critical the digital readout is for overall safety and governance. However, I would buy again. But this time I will mark the two proper connectors so I don't do another bonehead mistake.

Excellent product and exceptional technical service
I recently purchased the Genmax GM3500iAED generator, however when I received it, the electronic start was not functionable. It started ok via the manual "pull" start and the generator functioned very well. Probably this problem was caused in the shipping and handling to me. I immediately called the manufacturer's Technical Support line and they immediately attended to the problem. They contacted the manufacturer and the manufacturer immediately approved a replacement generator. As I was leaving shortly for a trip to Alaska and a functional generator was urgently required by me in remote areas and as Amazon would not ship the replacement unit to an address in Alaska, the manufacturer very graciously allowed me to keep the generator I received to use on my trip (as the manual start was functional) and they graciously offered me a full credit to my credit card for the cost of the generator (so that I could purchase another generator at a later date if desired). The manufacturer and their techical support company, Tomahawk, in San Diego, never hesitated to try to solve my problem and were very forthcoming in allowing me to keep the generator (with the no electronic starting capability, but manual starting functional) at no cost to me and providing me full credit for the cost of it. This was greatly appreciated and again I hereby thank them for their prompt response to my problem and their generousity in adequately solving my problem, given my urgent circumstance of requiring a generator in remote areas.. As for the functionality and specifications of this generator, I can already tell, from my limited use of it, that the generator is a very good quality product. With the features it has, it appears that there is currently no equal to it on the market at that cost. I am an electrical engineer and before buying the generator, I did very extensive research for what we required in this type of generator and could find no other model that has all the features we required for use in polar regions. The physical size, which has capability of generating 3200 actual watts of power, the dual energy ability of gasoline and propane gas, the electric and remote starting features, coupled with the 145cc four cylinder engine specifications, makes this product a winner. The manufacturer and their techical support team's action in propmtly resolving my problem tends to suggest that they seriously want their customers to receive excellent technical support and for them to be satisfied with their product. I highly recommend this product and the company's technical support to anyone who requires a generator with these technical specifications. A good product and excellent technical service!

Junk
So just bought the Genmax 3500. got to use it for three hours fresh out of the box. Was excited to get this unit for my RV. Started it up had it running. Had full power and enough power for the RV. so this is where it goes wrong. It ran for three hours on a full tank. Was checking to see how long running time I would have on a full tank. Got the awning out and the side out. with the refill the fuel. Try to use electric start, not enough power after three hours running to get it crank. I grab a hold of the cord the pool started. Were the handle and cord meet. Came unattached from the handle and spun itself back into the tensioner. Was stuck out on the campsite, Boondocking. Wasn't able to start the unit, not enough power in the battery as well as could not pull start the unit. I was stuck with an awning that was out as well as the slide of the RV out. Could not retract the awning or slide. Could not leave because I had no power. Luckily I was Boondocking with my best friend and his wife. How do use his generator to close my awning and slide. So I can actually go home. If not without their generator I would’ve been stuck in the woods and would not have been able to move my RV unit. I find this unit to be the biggest piece of junk I’ve ever spent my $900 on. Now I’ll probably have to take it to a repair shop at my expense to fix the cord or Will probably return. I would really rethink buying this unit or product, junk. Left me stranded if it wasn’t for help.

Great generator and customer service
This is a great generator—Genmax has the most powerful generators with the smallest footprints and weights on the market. Starts on battery and manually within 2 pulls. Has plenty of power to power the most demanding tools. Unfortunately, my battery did die and would not charge back up. I emailed customer service with my problem and within 6 hours had a reply from Melissa. She sent out a replacement battery at no cost (warranty). How fabulous!! Customer support was very expeditious. Love this generator so much I will likely upgrade to the GM4600iAEDC or the EFI version when they get released for purchase and rack up some good reviews.

Quiet, priced well ,and a duel fuel
I ended up getting the generator for free . When it arrived it would not stay running on either gas or propane . I talked to Amazon and they were great .I boxed it all back up took out all oil and gas ready to return it and Amazon said that it could not be returned do to it had gas in it .when it arrived it was allready used at the factory and had a gas smell.I I had my credit in my account within the hour .they gave me the # to genmax and I contacted them about it .the said there’s an low oil sensor and if there’s not enough oil in it it won’t start .I assured them the right amount of oil was in it. I ended up taking it all apart .and started spraying any gas lines I could with a combination of carb cleaner and a little wd40 .put it all back together.tried it again and it started . I did the break in period .run for an hour with no load .then change out oil and do again for an hour with a little load then changed again a total of three times to get all the metal shavings out …I bought this generator to run my camper for .boondocking it runs everything in my camper even my ac unit . It’s a good unit light and pretty quiet to and the option of a duel fuel is good.

Reliable and easy to use
Likes: remote start, dual fuel with no conversion needed, light weight, easy to change oil. Dislikes: none so far Features that would be nice to have: on/off switch for starter battery to prevent it from draining if not used for long periods, RV standard 30 amp outlet on the front panel (you just use a dog bone adapter, no big deal), quick connect propane connection for use with RV LPG ports. Bought the GM3500iAED for use with our RV. Never used gasoline, only propane because we carried it in our SUV and there was no smell what so ever. When using propane, you don’t get as many watts output, particularly at high altitudes (we often camp above 8500 ft) but that’s true of all generators. Works well to run the convection oven or the air conditioner, or to just recharge our batteries. Over a 100 hours and the only problem was caused by user error. We left the internal starter battery connected for 6 months while not traveling and it went dead. Support sent a new battery very quickly at no charge. Sound level, particularly at least than full power, is not objectionable.

Be careful if it breaks!
I bought this Oct .2022. I used it about 3 times, The forth time it died and wouldn't start. I tried to go through customer service but Genmax replied that I had to use the U.S. email address. When I did they replied again that I had to use the U.S. contact. I took it to a repair shop and they can't get parts for it. I gave it two stars because when it worked, it worked great. However, there is no customer service if you have a problem. I guess if your going to buy an off brand its buyer beware! And yes, its out of warranty

Surprisingly Quiet GenMax 3500w
It was delivered today, and I now have it running with a small electrical load to wash the engine with a load of clean oil that I will change at 6 hours to clean our any metal shavings from the engine manufacture process. I did an initial oil change at 1 hour (and no load) with plenty of "glitter" flowing out with that initial oil change. The owner's manual did not specify to do this, but I think it is a good idea for any filterless oil sump small engine. My first impression is that this is a good deal for a 3500w generator. I own both a Honda EU1000i and an EU2000i, so this is now my third generator. I bought this one because it is dual fuel and the larger size will allow me to run more items in my travel trailer. I always thought the 13500 AC unit on my trailer strained a bit under the EU2000, even though I have the Microair easy start module installed. I was expecting a much louder unit than my EU2000i, but this is not the case. YES, it is a bit louder, but not significantly louder. In fact, when I first fired it up, I was astonished how quiet it was. It's got a good muffler that wipes out any rattling or popping sound, but it does have a significant low bass exhaust note, although it is not too obnoxious. I hate loud generators in the campground, and yes you and your neighbors definitely will know it is running, but it is not any more bothersome than my EU2000i. For $800 (I had a $100 off Amazon coupon available), the machine looks well made, only time will tell on how it holds up. But right now, my initial thought that this is an awesome deal for a 57-pound, 3500-watt generator that is dual fuel and has remote start/stop.
