I've owned a lot of different garlic presses over the years and they all eventually break at the pivet point. Many of them are either hard to clean, aren't self-cleaning, Don't press with the skin on. There's lots of variations but this one seems unique. It's expensive , but i'm pretty sure it will be the last garlic press that I ever have to purchase. It's strong enough to press with the skin on, It's self cleaning is a little wonky but does work. If this pivot point breaks from normal usage, then you are the incredible hulk. This is a two pack , does fine and coarse garlic pressing. Quite useful option but If you would like to save a little bit of money , just get the fine one. This company also makes a few other tools that I am considering as well solely because of how well this one is constructed. I am all about making my prep to be quicker faster and easier. This is a tool I will use for years to come.

I've hated our permanently hinged garlic press for 9 years. My wife brought it into our marriage and I quickly learned that any initial convenience was followed by more work on the back end in cleaning it. I waited far too long to spend a little money to make life easier on a near-daily basis Even though it's much easier to clean by hand and run through the dishwasher than my one-piece hinged press, I give it 4 stars because there's still some work in making sure the skins don't get stuck after washing.

Great quality! Easy to use and to clean!

Ich habe in meinem Leben schon viele Knoblauchpressen verwendet, aber die meisten waren entweder nicht robust genug, schwierig zu reinigen, aus nicht langlebigem oder sich verfärbendem Plastik, oder verschiedene Kombinationen dieser schlechten Eigenschaften. Manche waren billig und klapprig, aber manche auch teurer und ihr Geld nicht wert. Ich war deshalb seit vielen Jahren dazu übergegangen, Knoblauch mit dem Messer klein zu schneiden statt zu pressen. Jetzt dachte ich, ich könnte ja mal wieder schauen was der Markt derzeit so hergibt, und bin über diese Knoblauchpresse aus Edelstahl gestolpert. Da ich viel Knoblauch verwende, und das Schälen nicht gerade zu meinen Lieblingstätigkeiten gehört, war ich verblüfft daß man mit dieser Presse angeblich auch ungeschälten Knoblauch pressen kann. Das hat mich verleitet, die Presse als Kombo (grob und fein) zu bestellen und einfach selbst auszuprobieren. Was soll ich sagen: Ich bin begeistert. Die Presse ist super stabil, liegt gut in der Hand, und das Ergebnis ist hervorragend. Sogar, tatsächlich, mit ungeschältem Knoblauch - wobei ich dazu sagen muß daß man die Presse dann nach jeder Zehe kurz auskratzen muß um die Schale los zu werden. Solange man ungeschälte Zehen verwendet, ist das Ergebnis auch mit dem groben Aufsatz recht "fein", und das Durchdrücken braucht wesentlich weniger Kraft. Wer also ungeschälten Knoblauch pressen will, ist mit der groben Variante besser bedient. Bei geschältem Knoblauch ist das Ergebnis zwischen "grob" und "fein" deutlich unterschiedlicher, und dann gewinnt die eigene Vorliebe. Am flexibelsten ist man natürlich mit der Kombo, aber wenn ich mich zwischen einer der beiden Aufsätze entscheiden müsste, wäre es für mich der grobe. Zu Robustheit und Langlebigkeit kann man nur sagen: Wer das Teil kaputt bekommt verdient meine Hochachtung, und sollte sich bei der nächsten Verfilmung von Hulk als Hauptdarsteller bewerben. Wahrscheinlicher ist, daß irgend ein Archäologe das Teil in 2000 Jahren aus den Überresten meines Hauses ausgräbt, kurz mit Wasser abspült, und direkt weiter verwendet.
