This is a great home for our chick’s. We put them in there when they were 2 1/2 week’s old. They are just over 4 weeks and getting most of their feathers. This has great room for them to run around and enough height when they jump/fly for a sec. The entrance’s are wonderful, one on each half on the side and a top door on each side to put their food & water container’s inside. Very easy set up. You will enjoy the size and easiness of this playpen!

This brooder has been amazing for our 12 chicks. It was super easy to set up and gives them plenty of space to run around, eat, and stay warm. I love the mesh sides because it keeps great airflow while still keeping everything contained (and the chicks safe). The zippered doors make it really easy to reach in for cleaning, refilling food and water, or just checking on them. The wood shavings stay inside well and it keeps the mess much more contained than other brooders we’ve tried. Our chicks settled in right away and seem really happy with all the space. If you’re raising multiple chicks indoors, this setup works great and keeps everything organized and tidy. Highly recommend for anyone starting a small flock!

I raised my first two sets of chicks and ducks in this pen. The fact that you can zip the top was a lifesaver for when my chicks learned they could fly out. The side openings make it easy to run brooder plate cords out. It held up great to two batches of chicks and a batch of ducks. The ducks wore mine out worse because they did what baby ducks do and constantly spilled water. I wouldn’t recommend using for ducklings for that fact, but it made do until they could go outside. If duckling go in it, it needs a tarp under it for water spillage. But it is the best for chicks. It’s very spacious and had plenty of room for near 20 chicks, two brooder plates, two starter roosting perches, a feeder and waterer. Mine held up great and only ripped due to my fault for dragging it over briars. It’s easy to dump out and spray with a water hose and cleans very easily. I will definitely be buying another one and highly recommend.

I used this for my chicks, and it was great in terms of the space it provided. They were able to spend quite a few weeks in here comfortably. I would bring it outside and remove the bottom, allowing them to have time in the grass. This was a great feature. However, while this met my needs to get these chicks coup-ready, I could maybe use it one more time if I get another group of chicks. The mesh started to get holes in it and the material around the zipper is starting the fray. It is a great product, but it's not built for longevity and multiple uses.

This is the perfect setup for our chicks as they got bigger! It’s durable, spacious and easy to move if needed. I will absolutely caution… do NOT use this if you are using a heat lamp… as it is a huge danger to catch fire. You should be fine if you are using a brooder plate or weaning off of heat. We love that our chicks have lots of space with this playpen. Getting ready to transition them out to a coop!

Heed the warnings about how flimsy this thing is. I set this up as a temporary chicken enclosure in my yard . I liked that it had an open bottom so my hen could scratch and touch grass. I set it up easily but bonked the tent with my foot as I was walking past it and all of the tie down loops ripped clean off. It was still ok-ish at that point so I took the bottom off to use as a cover, an advertised feature. There is no way to attach the bottom as a cover though. No biggie, I used clothes pins. There was a light drizzle yesterday and the whole thing collapsed under the weight of a little bit of water. My hen was soaked and stuck in the mesh.

Would be great for animals with no way of tearing it; our two adult cats only managed to go a day or two before clawing holes in the mesh when we were traveling.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I am using this as a chick brooder. This one in particular was a reasonable price and had more than enough room for our 5 chicks. I appreciate the net sides that provide awesome ventilation and the completely zippered attached nylon bottom. There are two openings 1 on each top end and two side openings along the same side at each end of the one side. The base can be zipped off and pushed aside so that you can use the included pegs to attach the "chick brooder, playpen" into the ground to allow them outside on the lawn time, while still having the protection of the netting. This is however by no means predator - proof as this is a pop up net design so anything jumping on it will squish it down. But it does give the chicks relatively safe outdoor time with proper supervision. It also allows for older chickens an easy way to view their new future coop mates while keeping the two flocks apart.

Bought for my quail, it's great. I can bed deeply so they can burrow and fluff up. And nothing gets thrown out of the pen while they do that. I'm very tempted to buy more and likely will. I like that the bottom can come right off so you can easily wash it. Or pin it to the ground outside and let the critters have grass while protected from birds of prey. Awesome little thing.

Material is incredibly poor and unsuitable for any animal with teeth or claws. Seller argued that it is only suitable for baby rabbits, but even then, they will tear straight through it.
