4 Piece Astoria Lagoon Indoor/Outdoor Garden Patio Conversation Set

Description

Add some green furniture to your life. We recycle and repurpose used steel drums into striking designs. You'll love the fact that we use what industry has already produced and turn it into sturdy and unique furnishings for your home or office. Our products showcase the repurposing movement as a whole, and promote the benefits of using low VOC finishes such as powder coating technology. Our products use; CNC cut components, top grade fasteners and pressure treated wood materials, and are MIG welded for strength and durability. The powder coated finishes of the recycled 55 gallon steel drums are bright and rust resistant. These are real recycled drums, with little dings and dents from years of industrial use, that are sourced from an industrial supplier that cleans and prepares them for repurposed life as furniture. After the drums are transformed into seating designs here at Drum Works Furniture, they are baked at 500 F and then sandblasted and powder coated. But are they comfortable? Yes, the natural curve of the drum is the near optimum match to the natural curve of the back. Review: A real conversation starter - This set is funky and fun. The colors are fantastic and really pop on my patio. The paint has a beautiful finish. The actual drums are not perfect. There is a slight dent on the tabletop, but that's to be expected with something like this made out of recycled materials. It doesn't bother me one bit and adds to the charm. The seats are comfortable, but the backs are low. Feels great on your lower back but you can't really lean back into the chair like you normally might. The cushions are comfortable and water beads up on them so they dry quickly. The chairs are wide, I mean really wide. We aren't petite and I always worry that patio furniture isn't going to fit the hips. The chairs have room for me and a child easily. The bench would handle three children, or an adult and two children or two teens. Possibly two adults, but it would be cozy for sure. There are a few things about this set that bother me. In the second photo, you can see that the screws on top of the table are not flush and are starting to rust. All three screws are like this on the table There is also a rust spot developing on top of the table (nowhere near a screw). I ordered this less than 2 months ago and it's only rained twice, so I'm not sure how this will hold up over time. The leg of two of the seats wobble a bit so I needed to place some furniture pads in a few places. It was an easy fix, but something I should not have had to do considering the price tag. Overall, I am happy with the way this looks and some aspects of the quality.
