FLITZ Metal Pre-Clean - Stainless Steel Cleaner Spray (16oz, 12 Pack)

We bought this to clean up a set of neglected 24 year old Weld Forged polished wheels. This cleanernis absolutely amazing. I bought the big container thinking we would go through a lot.of product. I filled up an empty 16 oz spray bottle, cleaned all 4 17 x 10 wheels, fronts and backs and still had more than 1/4 of the bottle left. We also used on a couple drilling rig motor parts to clean up caked on, crusty oils, grease and who know what else. Cleaned up amazingly. Super easy to use as well...sprayed on, used a brush to agitate and rinsed off with water hose.

WOW !!!! THIS stuff works like a dream !!! My aluminum truck rim had 10+ years of brake dust and other buildup on the backside. Stubborn and wouldn't come off even with a scotch brite pad. Sprayed this stuff on, let it sit for a few minutes, scrubbed with scrub brush, rinsed, repeated the spray, scrubbed again with brush and scotch brite pad and the rim was almost completely clean. Front side looked like almost new. Have 4 more rims, may need another bottle to finish them all front and back. No bad smell. Works as described.

I used this to clean up some corroded metal that I wire brushed. It worked well but I can tell by the smell it's very similar to a popular cleaner that is purple in color, or Dollar store non-aerosol grill/oven cleaner. It's a bit overpriced compared to other similar products, but it may have additional ingredients or properties I am not aware of. That said, the spray bottle was good quality. It sprayed solidly and didn't dribble chemicals all over your hand while using it. The product itself did degrease the metal pretty well, I used a nylon brush to agitate the thiicker buildup. I liked that it came in shrink packaging to save space and prevent leaks as well. Nothing wrong with it, but you may find similar products for a bit less right here on Amazon.

This Metal Pre Clean is not a cure all. It’s absolutely fantastic for cutting through baked on brake dust and grime. I used it to restore and clean the backsides of some 2002 Honda aluminum wheels which had probably NEVER been cleaned and had decades of baked on crude. I sprayed it on generously and kept respraying to keep the working surface from drying while I scrubbed with a scotchbrite abrasive pad. I finally rinsed, dried and reapplied to stubborn spots which I then scrubbed with a steel wire brush. I initially didn’t think there was any way of cleaning the insides of those wheels, but Flinz Metal Pre Clean along with some elbow grease did the trick. It doesn’t work on everything though. I tried it on some stained metal bakeware, aluminum I think, and it didn’t do a thing. Also it’s not really a rust remover, you’ll have to use Oxalic acid or some Iron Remover for the rust.

I'm refinishing 30 year old Toyota aluminum wheels, they had years of caked on grease and dirt. This stuff cuts thru the grease very well. I still had to use scotch brite pads and small wire brushes, but this stuff cuts thru the grease. Much better than the Purple degreasers. It didn't harm the aluminum. You'll want to wear some rubber gloves because it seems mildly acidic.

Not as effective as expected. Sometimes leaves smears.

The product worked very well. Purchased to help clean up some old penn reels. It worked great and didn't require much scrubbing to get them clean. After a little polish brought a shine back to the reels. Would definitely recommend. Only issue i had was with Amazon shipping. Item did not come on guaranteed day.

This says it works on copper and brass, which when you receive the bottle it says it's for aluminum and chrome. Not what it is advertised on Amazon to do. This is a VERY misleading product. Also it cannot be returned via Amazon Prime! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!

Used on a rusted seized nut & within two hours issue was resolved. Highly recommended

I can’t even begin to tell you how bad my rims were. It was almost yellow to golden with all the rust and deposits. I just sprayed this once all over and now it looks brand new! And it didn’t even take me more than a couple minutes from spraying, scrubbing and washing it off. This is liquid gold I promise. It’s worth every dollar paid.
