Best tongs available! This is our second after 5 years!
This is the second one of these purchased as we needed two based on the amount of grilling we do. I read complaints regarding the toes in design. I have found this design to be a huge advantage on everything I pick up with it. It is especially nice for rotating chicken legs as the tips surround the leg better when turning. The lock design is fantastic - turn the tongs upward and it locks - turn the tongs downward and they unlock, all with one hand which is they way you want it. The existing version we have is approx 5 years old and is excellent condition. We use these tongs several times a week. They are a nice heavy grade of stainless steel which is much sturdier than the cheappy versions you get at the kitchen stores. The only tiny complaint on our 5 year old tongs is I needed to super glue one area on the rubber handle where it snaps into the tongs. It fatigued over the years due to many washes in the dishwasher. After gluing no problem!

Nice heavy-gage stainless steel tongs - weird shape
I decided to try these after being frustrated at the thin, wimpy tongs available at most stores. As other have said these are very sturdy, made with a much thicker gage of stainless steel than usual. The should last a long, long time. However, I wasn't happy with the shape of the tongs gripping surface. Too much of a 'vee' front to back and kinda flat at the back. If you try to pick up a burger or other meat from a grill, you'll puncture it with the tip before you get a good grip on it. (I don't know how Weber considers this shape to be optimal.)As shipped, the tip is more of a 'pincer' than any other tong I've owned. Weber must think that it enhances grasping small objects like shrimp or asparagus, but I find the shape just plain wrong. The vee is so angled that only if you pick up something 5-6" across are the tips contacting all the way along the head. If you like to pick up burgers, steaks, and chicken by laying the tongs flat on the grill and pick thing up from the sides, these are your tongs. If you pick up things by sliding one tip under the food and gripping the top, these are simply the wrong shape. After trying them, I went into my shop and put each tip over a 1 1/2" oak dowel for a mandrel and beat the tips into shape with a rubber mallet, patterning the shape after other tongs. I flattened the front to back angle to about 1/3 of the original and made each tip more concave as well so the back 'teeth' bite better. Now I can pick up a typical burger and steak with the tip contacting the whole length of the tong head, not just at the tip. Yet after modifying them, they still work good when 'side-gripping' as well, so I can't say I like Weber's design. At least they can be re-formed to ones own preference.

No Longer Made in USA, Now Cheap and Flimsy.
I had these Weber 6441 Pro tongs and they were the best tongs I ever owned. Solidly made, smooth action, great metallurgy, durable, had them for a long time and still looked new; absolutely loved them. But then they got left behind by accident after a camping trip. So I bought the same Weber 6441 tongs again. No dice! These are not like the one's I lost. These are flimsy, The tong ends will misalign when grabbing something. The metal is thinner and the grip feels cheap and flimsy. Overall, they feel light and cheap. The big difference was the first Weber tongs I had were Made in USA. These are made in China. Wish I could return them, but I tore the box open; my mistake.

Attractive and practical.
These Weber stainless steel tongs are well designed, sturdy and easy to use. The locking mechanism is similar to other chef's tongs. I purchased for use with gas grill barbecue and they work very well, good length and easy to handle. The generous size hoop for hanging fits the grill rack perfectly. Recommend highly.

Strong tongs, could be better
This a good, sturdy set of tongs, good length and comfortable to hold. If I could change them, though, I would do something about the tips. In my opinion, they are bent inwards too much--you end picking things up w/ just the tips rather than the whole grabber, which can lead to torn meat. Weber should know better! Also, I think I prefer the sliding tong lock to this pull mechanism. Works fine now, but I worry that down the road it will get loose and start locking while I am using them; that would be very frustrating. But, so far so good.

Tong review
The tongs are long enough for the grill but there's no clip to keep them closed. A pain to store!

A great addition to my grilling accessories
I read many reviews on tongs on Amazon while searching for the "perfect set". I know that there were mixed reviews on these tongs, which all boil down to personal preference. For me, I really enjoy having longer tongs that are able to easily grip medium-large pieces of meat. I have used them with chicken (all pieces), steaks, pork chops, and hot dogs. I like the locking action and the hook so I can hang it on my Genesis. The metal construction is solid and I feel they will last me a long time.

Long but perfect
I bought these tongs knowing they were larger than normal. This is exactly what you should look for if you get burnt occasionally from the flames or when the grill gets too hot. They look very high quality and professional. I would order these again even though I think they'll last for several years.
