This is Amazing for the Following Reasons: [1] Fit [2] Appearance and Color [3] Reception [4] Comparison [5] Installation FIT: This product is a perfect fit for the 2017 Mazda Mx-5. The stock OEM antenna stands over 15 and 1/2 inches tall; This stubby antenna is less than 4 inches !!!!!!! APPEARANCE AND COLOR: This product perfectly matches the color and the size of the base to which it mounts on the car. RADIO RECEPTION: I live in a small city. The radio reception is the same as the OEM version with zero loss. I am still receiving multiple HD Radio channels per station. Some stations have more than one HD channel. I am also still receiving traffic updates over the Radio as well. HOW DOES IT COMPARE: Days after I purchased my mx5, I shopped online for a shorter antenna and ordered one from Amazon, which advertised as a direct replacement for the OEM. Well, it was not. It was a straight cylinder piece with a bag of various sized screw inserts for attachment. The correct antenna must be wider at the base, like a 3D cone, rather than a cylinder. I had to return that one and ordered this one as a replacement. And, I am so very very glad that I did. Because this antenna is perfect and also has an excellent price-point. INSTALLATION: Unlike the other product that came with a bag of various screws, this product was all ready to go straight out of the package. No assembly, no adapters, no additional hardware. Two easy steps, (1) Unscrew old antenna. (2) Screw on new antenna. No Tools, No Guesswork, No Fit Checks....Easy as 1, 2. That's it. two.

I’m a fan of the stubby. Looks great on my 2025 Miata, easy install, no fit issues, and fits under an OEM car cover that I use in the garage ( since I don’t like taking the antenna on/off) - which would not work with the original antenna. A small touch on my car that just adds to the sharp factor.

2017 Fiat Abarth 124 Spider Scorpione (otherwise known as a "Miata in a nice suit") First impressions: Ordering: Not much info on if it would fit my car - took a chance on the Miata one since they're essentially the same car. Seemed a little expensive to me (but my wife will tell you that EVERYTHING seems expensive to me). Delivery: Arrived very quickly after I placed my order (2 days, i think). I was surprised at how small it was compared to the stock antenna. It seemed very substantial, well made, solid. Has the feel of a quality product. Installation: It will take me longer to type this sentence than it took to remove & replace the stock antenna with the stubby. It's a perfect fit - looks and feels like it came with the car. Operation: I have seen many posts from people that have installed a stubby and then had FM/AM reception issues. It must depend upon where you live because my radio works as well as it before the install. I will carry the stock antenna in the trunk in case I ever need it. As noted before, swapping the 2 is a breeze. Overall: It does what it says on the tin. High quaility item well worth the price. Easy to install, looks great, works well. I'm now going shopping for one for my wife's car.

Great look antenna, I don’t see any difference with radio reception vs the stock antenna. Also the 25 horsepower boost was a pleasant surprise

Purchased this for my 2018 Mazda 3 after noticing my stock antenna was flaking apart and not in good shape visually, although it still worked. New antenna arrived promptly and was a good price. Was about three inches shorter than stock (knew that in advance) and threaded easily the first couple of turns, but then faced a bit of resistance. Could have left it with some threads exposed, but wouldn't have looked right. Continued to tighten it and applied too much sideways torque and popped the antenna base off the roof. Plastic bolt holes of the antenna base (not product) separated from roof base, not necessarily the fault of the antenna, but would suggest caution if you attempt a similar situation. Perhaps lube the threads a touch. Just super glued the base parts back together and hope all is well. Radio reception is perfect on the stations I regularly listen to. Again, no real issues, just words of caution when installing it, so 5 stars!

I have owned several MX-5/Miata vehicles, and one of the very first things I do when taking delivery of any MX-5/Miata is to buy and install this stubby antenna. It not only enhances the appearance of the vehicle but is far more sturdy and, unlike the factory antenna, doesn't need to be removed at a car wash to avoid getting bent or destroyed. But note, I am not a big broadcast radio (AM/FM) listener, because if I was, I would not recommend this product. Your reception WILL be worse than the factory antenna. To be clear, there's nothing wrong with this antenna or the way it was designed or built -- build quality is top notch. It's just physics, pure and simple, a shorter antenna has less surface area for capturing the AM/FM wavelengths. For stronger stations, you probably won't notice that much difference, but on the margins, reception will be worse with a stubby antenna. Again, for someone like me who rarely if ever uses AM/FM anymore, this isn't a big deal and worth the trade-off.

The product arrived exactly as described. Installation was quick and simple, and it noticeably enhances the look of the car. I installed it on my Miata NC and am very pleased with both the quality and the result.

Looks nice but it definitely has worse radio reception than the OEM antennae. Several of the FM stations that I used to be able to hear at my house became very staticky. But I'm still willing to live with the compromise since this antennae looks much nicer than the OEM and I don't listen to FM that much anymore anyways. Helps if you use a car cover as well (previously had to bend the OEM antennae to make it fit). Quality is nice and very easy to install.

Replaced the tall ugly antenna on my new 2019 Mazda MX-5 RF GT. Very easy to install. Just unscrew the stock antenna and screw-in the stubby antenna. That's it. Reception was excellent. Car looks sportier. Couldn't be happier.

Ottima qualità e funzionamento pari all'originale, ci mette un pò la spedizione arrivando dall'america ma il risultato scenico è decisamente migliore di quella effetto macchina radiocomandata della mx5 originale.
