Works out of the box with Ubuntu
Worked right out of the box on a fresh Ubuntu install. No additional drivers or software necessary. It just works.

Works with Chrome OS Flex
I bought the Panda Wireless PAU0D AC1200 and it indeed works with Chrome OS Flex out of the box. I am very satisfied with this dongle. First turn on your PC and then put the dongle in.

review
its good, mt7612u chip is great for packet injection and pentesting, the 2x5dbi rpsma antennas and the stand is nice. the money for it is reasonable since alfa adapters are out of stock. the mt7612u driver is aleardy built into linux so i didnt have to do any driver installation or any issues. the chip is also one of the most stablest ones on the market for pentesting.

Amazing customer support
I couldn't get this to work on my latest version of Linux mint 23 but customer support contacted me and spent several Hours troubleshooting. Mark & Eric were very helpful and knowledgeable. Long story short, the adapter worked in Bootable live environment but not in my installed system which suggests something was corrupted or not installed correctly. it also worked in Ubuntu. but the speeds were not impressive. so I reinstalled the latest Linux mint v23 and tested again. the adapter did get recognized and I was able to connect but the speed was down to around 14-35 Mbps talking about outrageous slow. whereas in windows and other WiFi adapters including internal I was getting 120-145+. I'm not sure what's going on with this adapter and or my system I suspect but you can only spend so much time trying to make something work. it is Linux compatible but it worked with two out of three Linux mint PC's so that suggest something with my software. Awesome customer service and Linux compatible chipset you may get better performance.

Works great.
Works great. When I first plugged it in it did not work. I think it was because I plugged it in before I turned on my computer. When I turned on my computer first and then plugged it in it worked great.

Nowhere near as good as their previous products.
This adapter never worked quite right with my PC. The problem is the only driver you get is whatever Windows installs for you. The manufacturer doesn't offer a driver you can manually install yourself. So if something doesn't work right, too bad for you. Well, with my PC, for whatever reason, when I would go to shut down my PC, the WiFi adapter would never shut off, it would stay on and also be a little warm to the touch. So I would literally have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to shut off after turning off my PC. The performance up to this point has been fine otherwise. Now, as of recently, I'm having significantly worse issues. The WiFi adapter will just randomly disconnect out of nowhere over and over and over again. Sometimes it'll disconnect only one time with my PC being on the whole day, sometimes it'll disconnect literally every single minute. It's random. I've tried everything I can to fix it. I've tried rolling back the driver version, updating to the latest version, uninstalling and installing the driver, resetting the network settings, the whole 9 yards with every website you'll come across from a "wifi adapter randomly disconnects" google search. Even worse, when you try to contact their support team, they'll treat you like you're either lying or stupid. I told them about the issue where my adapter wouldn't turn off when I shut my computer down, and they just responded with "Huh... well I just tried it with my machine and it worked as intended." THAT'S GREAT! I'm glad you tried it on YOUR machine, a machine out of literally billions on the planet, and it happened to work fine. Evidently that isn't the case with every machine available. I get it, there isn't much they can do. At least forward it to your engineering team or whatever your small company has so you can at least research it and take people's concerns seriously so that you may improve your current and future products. So looks like I'm in the market for another WiFi adapter. Joy... I sure do miss the last revision of Panda's adapter they had, it actually worked flawlessly. Don't know where they screwed up with this one.

Despite the bulk, the unit works well
I am certain that the improved reception possible is tied into the bipole antenna on the unit. It is modest in its size, but the attached cable is perhaps a bit less flexible than might be ideal in some areas of tight spaces. Function is not at all an issue. If I had a suggestion, it would be to make the area of the cable to the bipole unit a tad more flexible at both ends allowing a bit of rotation so that the fit is less problematic where space is limited. There are means to give both durability and yet some more numerous means to position the attached devices without their impinging upon or pushing against local space limitations. The nature of this criticism is not cosmetic, but it does reflect ease of utility if not being an issue of function.

Love it. Pwnagotchi horns! Watch out for me!!!
I use these antennas for my Pwnagotchi project & for that use, they work GREAT! I'm pwn'ing WiFi networks all over my hood like a true og wardriver! Let's me get 2.4ghz & 5ghz WiFi networks whereby without using it I only get 2.4ghz like a Noob Nobody. The range on these is impressive as well. I can go to the top of a hill & this antenna will grab an INSANE amount of handshakes! I've got handshakes falling outta me uh-rse! This is as plug-n-play as it can get for a Pwnagotchi. You ONLY have to enter one line. In fact here you go brother! Basically just disable-wifi in the boot directory. Open config.txt in the boot directory. Then enter the dtoverlay line below. Then plug it in & it'll work & the people in your hood will bow down & genuflect towards you when you come pwn'in around the corner with your juiced up & tweaked up Pwnagotchi with devil's horns sticking out the top! Instead of throwing rocks at me, girls throw kisses. Instead of throwing middie fingies at me, guys throw their cc#'s cause I pwn their WiFi networks & then crack their pw's & then I take their #'s... /boot/config.txt (open config.txt & enter the line below & save then exit) dtoverlay=disable-wifi
