This pestle is 'large' and 'substantial' in weight .. and does a superbe job of grinding pills, so I'm sure it will be quite an asset for whatever else requires it's services! I love this one, it fits well in the hand, covers the surface of the mortar, and cleans up quickly. I can highly recommend it!

It works really well for grinding various seeds and spices down, I use it primarily for grinding cumin seeds for plov, bit large, no question but very comfortable in my hands and I have large hands, you will definitely need a decent size mortar for it that has an opening on it at least 3 inches wide on the top. Otherwise great product heavy, both ends have a rough surfaces on them so you can really grind things down with them very solid product.

I like the pestle, but had to sterilize it and used vinegar. Now the entire thing looks like the ends with a rough texture. It still works, but as others have said, some instructions would have been nice.

Busted the pestle from my set because I’m feral when I’m in the kitchen. Found this in the same color as my mortar. Seems durable, nice weight to it. I like the different sized work ends on it for grinding different ingredients.

Our pestle was broken in a move. We were looking for a replacement with rounded ends to function well with our existing mortar that also matched as well as possible. This is a nice neutral color so blends well with our mortar. Good quality too. The set looks lovely on our kitchen display shelf. Works really well too. Nice weight & good grip which fits both my petite hand and my husband's very large hand.

Received quicker than expected, came packaged well. The pestle was just perfect for the bowl we have, and is an upgrade from the standard pestle we broke. These people don't mess around, they know their craft and deliver quality.

This is a beautiful pestle. However, I had to give it a 3 star because it is absolutely massive. It's also incredibly heavy. You could pulverize diamonds with this thing. Also, it isn't black.
