I am enormously pleased with this trash can! Love the oblong rounded opening, super sturdy & heavy weight, Euro-look stainless steel curved design, & ease of removing a full bag in a perfectly formed shape. My kitchen trash bag is actually full upon removal. No more half full bags that can’t fill up under the sink. My kitchen trash does not stink despite the open design. And you don’t see the rim of the kitchen bag thanks to the lid fit. No more opening a cabinet to throw away trash. This container makes my kitchen prep & clean up so much more efficient. And it looks fabulous! Highly recommend!

I just LOVE this trashcan. I have had it for over a year now and it's still going strong. I have 3 kids who throw things at it, bang things on it when trying to scrape their plates, sit on it and it still looks great. No scratches, no dents and I just wipe it down with a wet sponge. Now I still cringe when I see them do something to it because it was a pretty expensive trash can but I am very impressed with it's durability.Some people seemed worried about the smell because it has no lid but I don't have any more problems with this and smell as a lidded trashcan. I mean when you open a lidded trashcan and there is something smelly in there the smell comes out. With this if something gets smelly in there I take it out. Plus, the odors do not linger in the can once the smelly bag comes out like other trash cans I have had.I also love the size. We are a family of 5 and I was taking the trash out daily before. Now I can go a couple of days without having to take out the trash.You should buy their special "P" sized bags. A box of 50 is more pricey than a box of Hefty but my box lasted me way longer than a couple of boxes of Hefty would. You can buy the bags off Amazon or Bed Bath and Beyond carries them and you can use a coupon. You also can use a regular trash bag it just does not work as perfectly as the P bags do. For example my husband still will grab one of the kitchen bags to stick in there because he just does not see that giant box of P bags in the closet. I just end up taking it out sooner.

Worth the extra money - cleans up effortlessly, super easy to use (while the risen lid keeps the trash inside from being too obvious), works with my boyscout-troop-fundraiser trashbags beautifully. The slim design makes it easy to fit wherever it's most needed, and it's tall enough to keep the contents from the curious gazes of my young children. Definitely recommend!*edit*Years of use, still absolutely love this product - have only one small complaint to offer, so I'll post it here in the hopes that simplehuman might take note and come up with a way to tweak the design.The plastic lip that holds the lid onto the can has an upper edge that traps crumbs, but the top of the lid itself is curved, so that when you go to dump these crumbs out, it catches them so you can't dump them out (see photos - one is of debris as it is shaken just clear of the plastic lip it catches in, and the other is of debris resting in the lid's curvature so it can't be dumped out). I have to either take the lid outside and shake it about violently so the crumbs eventually all come out into the yard, go get out the vacuum cleaner and attachment, or use a microfiber cloth and try to wipe it all out a little at a time (tho the shape of the lid makes this approach kinda tedious). Not the biggest deal, obviously, but a little gross and annoying.**2nd edit**Yet more years of use - still love this trashcan. Recently noticed I hadn't had to vacuum/wipe out any crumbs lately - the new factor is a dog: evidently she's been licking the crumbs out of the lid as I go to fetch a new bag! ;D

Exactly what we were looking for! Space efficient! Sleek modern design, and holds alot of garbage. Love the tall look so you cant see the garbage. No smell. Matches our other stainless steel kitchen utilities. 13 gallon bags work great. Definitely best garbage can we ever had! Very happy with it. Plus no moving parts that will break! Get it. You won't be disappointed.

I bought more than one of these. The first one I bought 4 years ago was in the oil rubbed bronze color. I’m disappointed that color is no longer available, but even the stainless steel one is gorgeous. They fit perfectly anywhere you want to put them because they are thin. The almost rectangular shape can be tucked away in a lot of places that a round one would be too bulky to fit. When you live in a small place, size matters. The only problem I have, and it occurs with both garbage cans, the old one and the new one, is that it needs to have air holes on the bottom so when you are taking the garbage bag out, there isn’t any suction. That’s the only problem. Well, and the price. The price makes you swallow twice before hitting purchase. But the quality is excellent and your garbage bags don’t fall into the can like some plastic ones I have owned. I don’t use the simplehuman garbage bags (sorry simplehuman), I use a 13 gallon regular garbage bag available at any grocery store and they fit perfectly. (Probably TMI, but I don’t currently own two of these, I gifted my old one to someone who really really liked it and also had a small kitchen)
