Shaving Sharpener Strap Leather Straight Razor Strops

Keeps my shaving blade sharp

It's smaller than a standard strap, and the hanging hardware is a rectangular ring, so it doesn't tend to want to hold still against tension and sharpening motions. I likely will not reorder this particular item.

As stated in the subject, I was expecting a leather stop with a decent width what I received was a thin composite. The hand grip is a man-made vinyl leather-like material bonded to some type of cloth. The clasp side has a metal bail that is fastened to the strop surface with the same vinyl material. The strop surface seems to be a thin strip of suede bonded to a thicker piece of uneven course leather. I'm not an expert in hide or leathers, but the side opposite the suede seems to be neither the smooth exterior expected from hide nor does it seem to be the inside of a split hide. The width is about two inches which seems insufficient for most straight razor applications.I'll keep playing with it to see if it can be of some use, but my impression after about a week of working with it is it's not worth the time you'll spend on it. I'll go back to my old ugly strops that still work well.
