I can't believe I didn't buy it sooner.......
I don't write a lot of reviews. But this thing is awesome. I eat a lot of boiled eggs on a keto diet and it was a chore to make them. This little device make them so quickly. The eggs are EASY to peel and come out perfect. I wish I would have bought this device a long time ago. It recommends distilled water but I just use regular water and clean the plate everytime. Huge timesaver. Highly reccomend.

This is the egg cooker to buy!!
If you’re looking for an egg cooker, look no more. I was hesitant to buy this one because it didn’t come in the color I wanted, but decided to try it anyway as the one I was replacing looked good, but had barely lasted a year. What a great decision! The cooking time isn’t as long, you can boil seven eggs at once, the eggs turn out better, the non-stick surface makes it easy to clean AND, if all that wasn’t enough, the eggs are so easy to peel! It even allows for more ways to cook your eggs. I absolutely love it and I’m sure you will too!

Easy to boil, easy to peel, slightly confusing instructions
This thing makes boiling eggs SO MUCH EASIER than the traditional method of boiling eggs. All you have to do is add water, add eggs to the tray, push a button, and they're done within a matter of minutes. I don't use the egg piercer tool at all - I add my eggs completely whole and untouched and have not had a problem with them exploding. I've noticed they are also easier to peel than when I boil them in water. It just makes the entire process of boiling/peeling eggs so easy! The water measurer isn't completely accurate. I think a lot will depend on the weather and your elevation. So it took a little trial and error for me to get my eggs just right. I use a little more water than what is recommended to get my desired result. It comes with a cup that has lines in it for "hard/medium/soft/poached/omelette." I don't use the poacher or the omelette pan, I only use it for boiling the eggs. The water cup has indented marks instead of just painted-on marks, which is nice because the marks won't fade with washing. I fill a couple millimeters over the "medium" line, once they are done I let them sit, covered, for another minute. Then I drop them into ice water and once I peel them, they're just right. Some reviews mention brown marks appearing on the machine when the eggs are done. I use clean water and still get the little brown marks on the metal heating apparatus. But it wipes off easily with just a sponge and water - takes 2 seconds. If you don't wipe it down regularly and get any buildup of the brown color, just put a little white vinegar on it, let it sit a few minutes, and then it will all come off entirely. It's confusing because the instructions tell you how long to cook the eggs, based on how many you do at once. But there is no option to adjust the timing, and there's no option on the water cup to indicate how many eggs you're doing. You just fill the water cup, add it to the cooker, press the "on" button, and then it beeps when all the water has evaporated. It has nothing to do with timing. Once the water is evaporated, the machine beeps and it will not stop beeping until I unplug the machine. I think it uses a little more water depending on how many eggs you do at once - but you have to figure it out from trial and error. Note that if you leave the button "on" when you unplug, the button will automatically be "on " next time you plug it in. It would be nicer if the machine automatically turned OFF when it was done. But for the price, this is a great tool. It's kind of a bare bones egg boiler/steamer and it's exactly what I wanted.

Wonderful egg cooker
I fell for the cuteness of that little yellow chicken egg cooker last year and just had to buy it. It was not great. The sloped top didn't completely close and the steam vent was low on the lid, and no matter where I turned that silly top, I always burned my hand on the steam. I donated it. Enter this Elite Gourmet Rapid Egg Cooker. First, let me say that it does not lie about the egg capacity; it easily holds a full 7 large eggs and the lid fits and closes completely. I live in a high altitude area and was very pleased to read that high altitude folks should use approximately 25% more water, which I did. My eggs turned out perfectly cooked and in record time! The water cup has a metal spike at the bottom, which is thoughtfully covered by a cap that fits the entire bottom of the cup. The cup is marked for number of eggs, such as 1-4, 5-7, as well as soft or hard boiled. Since I live above 4000 ft elevation, I will always use a full cup, regardless of the number of eggs I cook, and even with that, it still uses far less water than traditional boiling methods. I loved how fast this little gem is, and you will too! Also, there is a nice, loud alarm that beeps until you turn off the egg cooker, which I found very helpful. Once I turn off the alarm, I have a bowl of ice water waiting. I lift the lid, use tongs to place the hot eggs into the ice water, and let them sit for up to 20 minutes. This method makes the peels just slide off once the shells are cracked all the way around. I use the side pad of my thumb to push the shells off under slightly running lukewarm water. I have never had an issue and do eggs this way all the time. This cooker and puncturing the eggs on top before steaming them is the best thing that has happened. BUY IT!

Cooks eggs by steaming. Great for reheating (steaming) naan too!
I liked the small footprint of this egg cooker, and the many different colors it came in. I bought the model the slightly squared off cover shaped a little like a bell (not the hemispherically shaped dome). I thought that the slight bell shape would direct condensate to the edge of the machine, not drop down into food such as an omelet or the poaching tray. This cooks eggs by steaming, which really is the best way to cook hard boiled or soft boiled eggs because it cooks them more uniformly than immersion in water. I followed the instructions by measuring the recommended amount of water, poured it into the machine, placed the eggs tray on the machine, placed the eggs on the tray, covered it, then plugged in the machine and pressed the button. A blue light comes on. When eggs are done, the machine will make a very unobtrusive beep to let you know eggs are done. Press the button to turn off the machine. Eggs turned out fine. This machine does what its supposed to do: cook eggs! — simple to use, — small footprint, — easy to clean, — cooks eggs efficiently and uniformly. Do you really need an egg cooker? Maybe not, but it frees up a burner on my small stove top and that is a big help, which makes this a worthwhile gadget to own. I highly recommend. P.S. this is GREAT for reheating (steaming) mini naan bread!

Only poaches two eggs at a time
Well, I wanted this for poaching eggs, and I'm not too happy with it. I think if you want it for hard boiling eggs, it's possibly great, but I was really looking for something to make poached eggs for Sunday breakfast. I like to make eggs benedict and wanted an easy way to poach 4 eggs. Sadly, this only poaches two eggs at a time. So, I have to poach the first two eggs, heat up the oven to keep them warm, and then poach the other two eggs. Which takes a bit of time. Maybe five minutes. So, if I'm making eggs benedict for two, it's not very convenient. Pros: It's small and cute. (Smaller than I realized, which is why I thought it would be able to poach more eggs than 2.) The directions are clear. It's easy to use and easy to clean. It was a very reasonable price for what it is. Cons: Only does two eggs for omelet style or poached. The poached eggs come out an odd crescent shape, not round as I expected (to fit on an english muffin, for example). So if you just want to make hard boiled eggs, this is probably a five-star unit. But if you are trying to make poached eggs or cook an omelet, probably not too great.
