Works well
So far we have only used this to attach to the shoe. Have not needed it on the foot while barefoot. It is comfortable but not too rigid. My son is able to take a better step without dragging his toe. Definitely needs a parent to help put this on for younger kids. Fabric is comfortable and has not caused any irritation. Velcro unfortunately wore out at about one month of daily use. But it was working well enough for us that we purchased a second one. It allows for some flexibility of shoe use, where our AFO only fits in certain shoes.

Size is meant for a baby at best.
We ordered this and just got it last noct. I tried to put it on my 9 year old child, and the brace BARELY fit on the foot, and didn't come even CLOSE to wrapping around the ankle area. We tried both braces on both areas. Neither side was big enough to actually velcro together around the ankle. My child isn't bigger than an average 15 year old (product is advertised as fitting 5-15.) It also didn't do anything for preventing my child from bending their ankle when we tried to use just the straps to keep it on. Don't waste your money on this if you have a child or someone who actually needs help.

Use everything backwards
I use everything backwards from the pic for my son. The foot one is smaller than his foot but his leg is skinny so we switched them. The pic also shows the loops on the bottom on of the leg and the top of the foot. We switched that too because it doesn't work at all that way. I will update with a pic when I can remember to take one. My son is a ten year old toe-walker and these work excellent to remind him to stay off his toes. We started an hour a day and now he only wears it to school because we forget on weekends. But I can see a huge difference in his habits already after 3 weeks.

Too small
I have a child that is wearing size 3 shoe so this item should fit. The wrap for the foot is way too small and will not work

Not for 5 years old
Good design, quality seems ok. But it's not design for 5 years old for sure. It's too big and long for my 5 years old boy.
