Tommee Tippee First Cup (Lime)

I first bought this cup a couples of years ago for my son, who was only 5 months at the time. The handles allow even the smallest babe to get a good grip. As I fed my son myself, with this cup I never needed to use a bottle and he graduated very easily on to this cup. Now my 5 month daughter is starting to use it and appears to know exactly what to do!(watching her big brother). My 2 year old still uses it, but without the top, although its still handy for when you are out and about. The only down side is that with milk, the spout holes are very small and quite difficult to get the gunk out....so just watch out for ant build up. (small interdental brushes are quite useful)

Very easy to use (my eldest daughter couldn't get used to all the anti-spill cups but loved this one at once, and the youngest started using it when she was only 6 months old!), perfect for outings and trips, very strong and dishwasher-proof: it's such a good product that I ordered several of them after the first one got lost and got them shipped all the way to Holland where I couldn't find them! For me, as far as kids are concerned, simplicity is best and this product is the best example.

I was swayed by the positive reviews for this cup when looking for a suitable first cup for my 6 month old daughter. I had previously tried Philips Avent soft spouts to fit the bottles I already had, but my daughter didn't take to them as they're non-spill and I think she needed to suck quite hard to get anything out. So I thought the fact this Tommee Tippee cup was free flow might make things a bit easier for her. She initially found the flow a bit too fast compared to a teat (she was breast & bottle fed) but I persevered with offering it to her every day and from about 7 months she got the hang of it finally! She's now even trying to drink from it herself but needs to tip her head quite far back to get the water in! Obviously with this being free flow if your child likes to throw the cup around, the drink is likely to go everywhere, but on the plus side at least you can close the spout so it's good for taking out and about - no leaks. My only gripe with this cup is that the lid is extremely tough to remove (and no, I'm not a complete snowflake) - even my hubby agrees. They could easily improve on this design fault by making it a screw-fit lid. All in all pretty pleased with this and good value for money in my opinion.

I wouldnt say this is good for a 4 month old. Bought for my son at 4 months, the teat is too hard for him, he doesn't like it.. It is free flowing and the speed the liquid came out was enough to make him choke repeatedly. However, with the top off, it makes an ideal cup for him to sip (or slurp from)

A brilliant first cup for my 6 month old... It took her a little while to get used to the flow, but it's easy for her to hold and is a great price! My only problem was that I couldn't see anywhere on this site to be able to choose which colour I wanted (probably just missed an obvious box to fill in! I still have baby brain!)... we ended up with a blue one when I've got a little girl - typical!!!

I specifically ordered this cup as it said it was available in Pink. When we opened the parcel, we were so disappointed as it was definitely RED. The cup had a sticker saying it was PINK but a five year old would say it was definitely RED

These cups seem to be totally ubiquitous for babies, and I am slightly puzzled as to why. The spout is excellent and easy to use - it seems to release a sensible amount of liquid for the baby to drink without having to suck too hard. HOWEVER, it drives me absolutely crazy trying to get the lid off to wash it. We only ever put water in it, but many times I ended up being splashed. So annoying that I don't use it at all any more. I have looked in vain for a cup with a similar spout (i.e. flip up, and no valve) but that had a screw on lid (or other easy to put on and take off mechanism!).

I originally tried a weaning cup which required my daughter (5 & 1/2 months) to suck on the spout (effectively non-spill) to get the water but she basically couldn't suck hard enough and would give up. I was a little worried that the flow on this would be too fast but she had already started with the Doidy cup and found this cup no problem at all. It is a great little cup (we now have 3) and she thinks she is the bee's knees when she is drinking from it. We still use the Doidy cup at home but when out and about or when you want to keep clothes saturation to a minimum this is just the thing - I would recommend this as a first weaning cup.

I started giving water to my 8 months old baby in this..it worked..he got used to it in 2 days
