These must be made for the thickest doors in the UK? what a farce. Very frustrating

The centre bar needs to be cut to size. The extra length caters for a variety of door widths. I trimmed both ends of mine so the grub screw, screws into groove equally on both sides of the bar. You can probably get away with only trimming one side.
