Great item for the money. Item is very sturdy and well made. I’ve had my GoPro mounted on my Jeep door at 80mph and it never moved. Thank goodness the magnet is wrapped in rubber so it doesn’t scratch the paint, with a quick sideways motion it easily comes off.

I am very pleased with the magnetic mount. I have attached it to my vehicle frame in various locations to video suspension travel. The mount remains in place while traveling over bumps and high speed. The ball head is solid and does not move when using just the GoPro. Although strong enough to attach the light in a vertical position, it is not capable of holding a 13-ounce light on top of a go pro at an angle. The underside is coated so there is no risk of scratching a surface. Overall, I am incredibly pleased and confident that it will stay in place.

The PellKing Magnetic Camera Mount has a very powerful magnet and easily supports my Insta360, whether I’m using the camera alone or paired with the selfie stick. The magnetic hold itself is impressive and gives a lot of flexibility for hands-free and creative shots. However, as another buyer mentioned, tightening the ball joint is awkward due to its location, and even when fully tightened, it doesn’t hold as securely as it should. There can still be a bit of movement, which is disappointing considering how strong the magnet itself is. Overall, it’s a solid mount with a great magnetic base, but the ball joint design could definitely be improved. If that were addressed, this would be close to perfect.

Bought this to mount on the door of my car with my GoPro, a few inches below the mirror. The tightener knob for the ball socket on this doesn't give very good leverage and is too close to the base, and when you really turn that thing to clamp it down it just doesn't hold. This is exacerbated by the short length of the mount, such that you can't really have it on a vertical surface and hold the action camera perpendicular unless it's facing away -- it's too short to hold it out far enough. This necessitated an additional arm, which magnified the poor ball joint clamping strength and long story short, I'm now looking at one with a superior 2-ball, longer arm with a much bigger clamp that controls both with a properly sized knob to turn. As far as the magnet goes, however, this totally gets it done. Rubber coating on a very strong magnet. Hence the three stars. I may use this on my hood in the future if I haven't destroyed the ball or socket by overtightening to try to get it to hold. So I'll probably keep this one as a second mount. It's adequate for throwing a GoPro on the balcony railing to capture a sunset timelapse or overnight nightlapse, and naturally much quicker to set up than a tripod. But there are definitely better options for a few bucks more.

This will hold many small cameras that come with a 1/4-20 threaded port. I wouldn't trust it with a >$1,000 DSLR but I am sure it will hold a small action camera in normal traffic.
