You will need this to cover up the wall
After i installed the Nest i found out it did not cover the hole in the wall as my old thermostat was bigger. This is the product i was looking for and it worked very well

Add a rectangle regular controller switched to nest this covered up all the wall perfection perfectly

Doesn't fit current gen 3 Nest with metal ring
Doesn't fit the current Gen3 Nest with metal ring. Both holes and recess for thermostat are incorrect size. Maybe it fits the plastic ring one I don't know. Probably not the manufactures fault, it's Google/nest for having different size plates for different thermostats.
