It will plug in if you buy the adapter separately. I wouldn't buy this, mine quit working after about 2 months and the company wouldn't stand behind their product. Just a waste of money.

Those lt have a good bass

It has a single monaural speaker and it's of a decent size, so it's a lot less tinny than a smaller radio would have, but there is no substitute for size if you want really good bass.

What adapter goes with this so I can plug it in?

Mine came with an adapter. Kaito AD500

Can I use the AC adapter with the 3 size batteries installed?

I only use it on AM with batteries I have a AC adapter if I use the AC adapter ( the one I have it is unusable the RF noise makes it unusable, It does not cause a problem on other bands I have tried). I would not expect a problem with both batteries and a problem. I have no idea if the batteries were rechargeable if they would be recharged when a battery and AC supply is connected.
