Not usually into square cut jammers, I prefer the range of motion that briefs allow, but am pleasantly surprised by the fit and the feel! Using these for laps.

I swam competitively for many years and later went on to coach as well. After taking a long break from the sport, I recently decided to get back into lap swimming. At this stage in life, I was not completely comfortable wearing traditional swim briefs anymore, but I also did not want the full coverage of jammers. These ended up being the perfect middle ground.They fit very well and have a clean, athletic look. For reference, I normally wear a 34–35 waist in shorts and pants, but I purchased these in a size 36. Keep in mind that they are designed to fit snugly, which is important for reducing drag in the water. Once on, they conform nicely to the body and allow you to focus more on your stroke and kick technique instead of constantly adjusting your suit.This is actually my second pair of the same suit. I originally bought the blue version and later picked up this black one after the first pair eventually stretched out from regular use. I swim one to two times per week, and the original pair lasted just under a year before showing signs of stretching and wear.To be fair, I am not especially gentle with them. I throw them in the washing machine and then hang dry them afterward. I also tend to lean against pool walls, which are not exactly known for being smooth and can be rough on swimwear material over time.TYR has always been a trusted swimwear brand in my experience, and I will continue coming back to them because this suit has served me very well.

I've ordered about 6 of these over a ~5 year period. I wear them as practice liners under a jammer suit, and both suits get tossed in the dryer (which you aren't supposed to do) 5 or 6 times a week. This suit is a bit thin and clingy for my taste but those features make it work well as a liner. After about a year a seam will rip out completely. I always practice in two suits since I swim in a public pool and don't want a seam failure to cause a stir....and when you throw your suits in a dryer the seams tend to tear completely when they blow out.
