Great product, works fast, leaves great finish
Searched for rust stopper products and found this had great reviews. Bought the quart bottle to see if it was all it says, it is. It brushed on easily. I poured out small quantities into a cup and painted the various rust spots on a deck over trailer I am rebuilding. I painted the major spots at the front of the trailer and the metal plates on the deck over the wheels. I was pleased with how quickly it went after the rust spots, turing black and when dry it seems to be a good sealed surface. I then applied a quick coat of spray paint. I still have to scrape and paint the axles once I get the brakes replaced. I wire brushed the brake drums and repainted them as well. I plan to buy another quart and the spray version to get at some places that a brush can't. This is a great product and I highly recommend it.

Easy to use
This is my first time working with this product application and use is super easy. I will be keeping an eye on this because I'm using it for auto repair on my baby. It dries pretty quickly

Lives up to its name.
Black magic lives up to its name. I’m refurbishing an old rusty cast iron bench and, after hours of dirty wire brushing, I decided to look for a rust remover. Instead, I found this stuff. Just brushed it on and let it do its thing. It exceeded all expectations, and I will cherish the remaining gallon for other projects. No more wire brushing for me. This stuff IS magic.

Waste of money and a waste of time - rust is still there - worse than it was
I honestly don’t know what all the great reviews are about. My husband followed the directions exactly and it had zero effect on the rust. We have a 2011 Tahoe that developed rust bubbles that were coming through the paint on the rocker panel of the passenger side. After reading all the great reviews of this product, he ordered this and applied it with a brush. That was last Fall 2024. Fast forward to Spring 2025 and the rust had worsened. He again applied this product and here we are December 2025 and looks like we are taking it in to the the body shop to get a new rocker panel. Maybe we bought time or we wasted money and our time with messing with this. Either way, we do not recommend spending money on this product. If you have rust you have to remove the rust completely or it just keeps coming back - bottom line.

Excellent water-based product when applied correctly!
I bought this to coat the underside of my Dodge Ram 1500 and my snow blade. I applied it using two methods - brush and airless spray. I am VERY pleased with the results. Before you start your project (while you are waiting for shipping), I recommend watching the YouTube videos from the manufacturer on how to correctly apply it. I personally found them informative. You have to power wash the surface before applying it to get the dirt and flaky rust off the surface, before you start. The nice thing is that you don't need to wait until it dries because it's water-based. You can go in right after washing the surface. For my blade, I was too eager to set up my sprayer (once the rust converter arrived in the mail) and coated the whole thing using a brush. It seemed a lot less efficient and more wasteful because of drips (in hinde sight), but worked great overall. So, if you have a sprayer, I would go that route. The photo here is of my dolly for storing my snow blade. The hard line is the edge of the blade. I also coated the underside of my Dodge Ram, but using an airless sprayer. It took one gallon to do one coat, so if you need to coat the underside of a vehicle, get two gallons. Note: different metals have different porosity and two full coats will likely be needed because the denser metals will require more coats e.g. leaf springs, strut springs, axle, etc. Some of the metals, like the body and fasteners took with only one coat. I would get some chip brushes to help you spread it in the harder to reach areas, as you are spraying.

It works. Don’t play around
Ok, cleaning up truck from. I used a needle gun, wire wheel and at times a grinder or burr tool. I degreased washed and air dried with compressed air. Trying to avoid flash rust . They stuff worked amazing. I’m not gonna lie. I put 3 coats on. Over a year ago later and it is just as black with blue purple hue. No rust bleeding through. That is where the bed is supposed to be. It is just covered with plastic that blows over and blah blah. So it Det gets wet/soaked whatever you want to call it. UV rays hit it. I’m very satisfied. This summer I’m going to paint it. Def worth the money. I’ve tried some, def not all. I will stick with this over por15 or others. This sticks really good. Just like anything. You have To remove any rust that can pop of later on from driving or whatever, to avoid having to patch up later. It works

Best rust converter and didn’t need to paint!!
I liked that it was easy to apply. Used a fertilizer sprayer. Didn’t need multiple coats maybe a second one if that. I used a regular paint brush as well to spread the solution. When you first spray it it’s a purple color and after it hardens it’s turns a black color. Therefore, we saved money by not having to paint our fence black. It was like a two in one deal. Wasn’t messy. 1 gallon was enough for almost 2 acres of oil pipe fencing. I bought another gallon to do touch ups and for other projects. It’s worth the money.
