KaโChava Review โ A Game-Changer for a Busy Home Health Nurse with IBD
DISCLAIMER - I wrote short novel here but itโs warranted I ordered my first KaโChava bag through Amazon, and delivery was smoothโactually arrived earlier than expected. As someone with IBD, I was especially relieved to find no GI issuesโhuge win right out of the gate. Iโve tried it both with milk and ice-cold water (1:1 ratio), and both were great. I havenโt added any extras yet, though I may experiment later. The taste and texture are enjoyable as-is. Yes, itโs on the pricey sideโbut if youโre a regular at fast food places or coffee shops, it actually balances out or even saves money. I used to spend $15 per fast food stop, five days a weekโthatโs $300/month. Two bags of KaโChava cost me about $160 and last just as long. For me, thatโs a bargain. Iโm a home health wound nurse and on the road from 10 AM to 7 PM. Iโd become a gas station food regularโconvenient but terrible for my gut, weight, energy, and mood. Not great when youโre trying to provide care to fragile patients. KaโChava has helped turn that around. I started with half a serving because I usually skip breakfast (easy nausea). No nausea! The half shake did leave me a bit hungry by lunch, so I tried a full serving the next dayโsipped it slowly and stayed full until 6 PM. Fantastic. Bonus tip: If youโre looking for a great shaker cup, I highly recommend the Helimixโno clumps, no shaker ball, and super easy to clean. I love my Ninja, but this cup does the job with minimal fuss. You can find them on Amazon. I also take fewer supplements now, and even my usual prescription med nausea has disappeared. The nutrient density in this shake is doing something right. Bottom line? KaโChava is worth it. Nutritionally, financially, and functionallyโitโs been a real lifesaver for me, and Iโll be sticking with it.

Best out there! Smoooth โฆ
Over the last few months Iโve tried a few different โmeal replacementโ shakes. For fair comparison, Iโve used the same blender, added the same extras (see my little list below) and the same amount of ice and milk. KaโChava is BY FAR the tastiest and smoothest Iโve tried. Almost like a gourmet chocolate milkshake. That said, the whole purpose of these things (for me) is to do better with my nutrition and curb my appetite. Consider the add-ins below โ Iโm not a physician or dietician, and some of these can add a bunch of calories (so watch the amounts), but after doing a bunch of research as to what others are adding to their meal replacement smoothies, Iโve settled on these: Fresh (not frozen) organic Banana, organic unsweetened peanut butter powder, cinnamon powder, walnuts, organic beet root powder, ground flaxseed, chia seeds, cacao powder, *wee* pinch of cayenne pepper powder, organic raw honey, frozen blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries, 15 oz unsweetened vanilla almond milk, and finally - about 20 oz of ice cubes (if you add more ice = thicker). I blend about 4 times for maximum creaminess โฆ first with just the milk and KaโChava plus beet root powder. Then, as that first mix is settling in and absorbing I add everything else *except* the ice - now blend a second time. Now I add the ice cubes. I blend the third time on the Ice Crush setting, and finally a 4th blend on the Smoothie setting. I gotta tell you what I get (with any product Iโve tried) is a silky-smooth and creamy shake. The difference Iโve found is KaโChava is a good bit smoother, creamier, and tastier than the others. Hands down my favorite, and so I put it on an Amazon subscription. Finally, the price. Heck yes, itโs quite expensive, but there are two tricks to get around that: first, you donโt have to have it every day. Next, and this really works - instead of two โheapingโ scoops as recommended, just put one! Yes, youโre not getting the full nutrient density with every shake, but with the add-ins I mentioned plus any others you may decide upon, you ARE getting a decent shot of nutrition you might not otherwise get, and your appetite is curbed. And, psst โฆ donโt tell anyone but the taste is still awesome with just one scoop! Oh, I do recommend looking up how to open the bag correctly. I didnโt and ruined the seal โฆ so, I have to roll up the top, put a clip on it and store the bag in the fridge. Small price to pay. To your health! ๐๐

Whole Ingredients, Total Nutrition, Great Taste
Donโt let reviews that say this shake tastes bad deter youโ Iโm convinced those users do not understand what this product is and are expecting a nutrition supplement to taste like a milkshake, which it just doesnโt, and it also shouldnโt. Vega used to be my brand of choice bc it was always the least artificial and sweet tasting to me (I find a lot of protein/nutrition shakes taste overly sweet and of fake sugar, especially plant-based ones, which I personally find very off putting). I finally decided to bite the bullet and try KaโChava after resisting forever, mainly because of the priceโฆ and Iโll never drink anything else. Not only is it superior in taste, but in terms of nutrition and whole body health, there is nothing else on the market that competes. Compare KaโChavaโs ingredients to any competitor and youโll immediately see that you get what you pay for. All whole food ingredients, nothing processed, no additives. As a recovering vegetarian (7 years vegetarian, easing back into an omnivore over the last year), the main reason I started drinking shakes was to ensure I was getting enough nutrients and protein. This is the only shake I have ever had that actually makes me full and keeps me sustained throughout the dayโ I definitely attribute that to the ingredients and formula. Many people donโt realize that in order for your body to absorb nutrients and vitamins properly, they need the support of the other naturally occurring vitamins, nutrients, and calories that accompany them in nature. For example, your body absorbs vitamin A more efficiently and completely if you eat a carrot as opposed to taking a vitamin A supplement with a glass of water. Because KaโChava derives its high nutrition content from all whole foods, your body is actually able to utilize all the nutrition youโre consuming in this shake, and that alone is why in my opinion, the price is reasonable and worth it. I started this review by saying this doesnโt taste like a milkshake, and honestly, imo itโs better. It tastes โwholeโ and unprocessed, and itโs delicious. I understand everyoneโs palette is different but honestly, drinking a milkshake in the morning, as many reviews have suggested that theyโre after, is just an unappealing thought to me. If youโre looking for something that will nourish and sustain you that also tastes good (but like what it should), then KaโChava is it, hands down.

Expensive but best of the 5 protein powders tested - beware the chromium
This protein powder was very good though expensive. No gritty texture and the chocolate flavor was unique and very, very enjoyable even if it didnโt pop like the flavor of a good chocolate mousse. This shake also seemed to have the best staying power - curbing appetite for a good 3 hoursโฆ but then again it had double the calories (meal replacement) compared to the competitors tested. Clear winner of the 5 protein powders I tried (Kachava > Shakeology >> Flip >>> Truvani >>>>>>> Sun Warrior.) I worry a bit about total heavy metals consumed (chromium) if eating more than one or two per day. Other nutritional content seemed far superior, as described on the package label.

Delicious complete nutrition
I swear by this and so do most of my friends. It satiates hunger and provides all the nutrients you need, plus superfoods. I can't recommend this enough. I drink it as a cold shake in summer and warm it up in winter. It feels like cheating because it tastes so good!

Wanted to use this to help me with my work outs
I am in the middle of.the road with this product. I tried it with water it took forever to stir and was still clumpy. Milk was better. Milk was also better with the stirring, but as you can see I the video didn't stir ๐ฏ all the way. Middle of the road bc I used it once for the water after the bad experience waited a few months to try Milk. I did like it with the only 1 work out.( 3/14). I did 35 squats and walked an extra lap. Rather than my norm of 20 squats and 4 laps. I felt decently tired/the burn as well. Working out more is great but sometimes water doesn't go as far as I would like and also water is boring. I don't know if this will be a regular product yet.i don't know if this will act as a "meal replacement " which is what I had wanted to do with it at the time. Bc every time you eat we are putting money in our mouth. I wanted to reduce food cost a little bit. The problem is price and wanting to try other flavors. Most of the flavors cost about 80 bucks. That's scary for something that I may or may not like. If I don't order regularly the 35 will just be a waste of money. So, will update with comments as I go through the last 3 bags. Might keep for workouts only.

Perfect
Appetizing flavors and keeps you feeling full. It's easy to mix with a BlenderBottle and the consistency is thick and satisfying. Little to no clumping, it's by far my favorite meal supplement beverage.

Not as good as expected, not like advertised
To start I am not a vegan. I was looking for a meal supplement, something like a shake for when I am busy, to replace breakfast. At 1 point I did protein shakes, but due to an injury I dont work out as much anymore. So I was looking for something simpler to use. Huel had too many options for me to want to figure out. Ka'Chava seemed simpler, pick a flavor. Looked good, sounded good, so I gave it a try. After some time and testing this is my personal opinion of what I found. I will also state I normally eat twice a day, first at 10-11am and then at 5pm. I am usually good all day with that schedule. This is not a Shake, Smoothie or Slushie. It is a drink. If you follow the directions it is a drink, not thick, nothing like what they show you. If you see a video of someone discussing how to make in a blender or shaker, they dont show you the end product, but if you look at the film on the blender, you can tell it is a drink and not a shake. Adding any amount of ice, with any amount of blending does not change that, you end up with a ton of ice particles floating on top of the drink. Because this is Vegan and non dairy, you mix a powder with water. It will always be a drink. The amount of water used has an effect. 12-12.5 oz gives you a good taste but chalky and gritty. 13-14 oz is watery and chalky. Now there are supposed to be 15 meals in a bag. But that serving is only 240 calories. As a full body meal or meal supplement or however you want to put it, nutrition wise that is starving as a meal. Talk to a Nutritionist, 400-500 calories should be a meal. More is over eating, less is starving the body. That is based on a 2000 calorie a day diet. Drinking like this, I found I was hungry within 2 hours. I did not feel energy or things like they said. The way I feel did not change. The only thing that changed it I drank this at 10am, I had to eat something by 12. So like this, it was not doing the trick. So later I started making with milk, 12 ozs, about 225 calories. Well it turned into a shake them and looked more like the pictures. I would also not start to get hungry for 4-5 hours. This equaled out to 465 calories a shake. Still a little chalky and gritty. It also could not be considered Vegan or Non-Dairy. Cost wise it did not seem that great either. A bag is roughly $70. As directed (and not effective) that equals out to $4.67 a meal. The milk I use is $4 a half Gallon, which equals 4 servings. So that equals out to $5.67 a meal. The protein shakes I made were cheaper (thats with milk, protein powder, peanut butter & nonfat plain Greek yogurt). So in the end I do not think this is worth the money
